Tripping The Rift ~ Season 1

If you don't have a sense of humor, try something else
I've read some of the other reviews of Tripping The Rift. The negative reviewers obviously don't have a sense of humor and therefore have no business reviewing Tripping The Rift. Having an open mind to all possibilities helps to appreciate this parody of the science fiction genre.Since computer animation first started with Toy Story, I was hoping someone would come up with something like this, and even though some of the jokes make me roll my eyes, I think this is the best anyone could have come up with for this format...and I find myself laughing more than I expect (truly the gift of an open mind). I love the references to all of the science fiction TV and movies that have been embraced through the years. I was kinda scratching my head while watching "Tripping The Rift-The Movie", wondering just exactly what Desperate Housewives had to do with the science fiction genre...but other than that, I think that the creators and writers have done an excellent job in giving us a genuine and entertaining source of mindless and enjoyable escapism. If I want to sit back and relax, and just forget about reality, this is one of the places I like to go.My favorite character has to be Bobo the Clown with his no-holds-barred insanity. You never know what's gonna come from him, and whatever he does is just total crazed hilarity.Wanna escape? Wanna have a few silly laughs? Gotta open mind and a TRUE sense of humor? Sit back, relax and let yourself go where no computer animated series has gone before.....and enjoy!!!!!....just make sure the kids are in bed for the night first, because this is definitely NOT for them!

Tripping on Tripping
Once upon a time after the SciFi channel realized that more adult shows could be shown after 10pm, us, the audience was offered an animated series 1/2 hour long specifically written with children NOT being allowed to watch it in mind. Unfortunately this seemed to mean lots of projectile puking, Bloody gunfights and bombs and sexy over developed young aliens/robots. This show has no point, no meaning, no character development. Weak plots with throwaway dialog and so predictable you know the ending after opening set-up scene. Also by the way ladies SciFi believes TV-MA means 'televison-MEN's audience'.You want simple, brainless fun?? A show you can set your mind to neutral and just enjoy? No complications, no overwriting, just simple entertainment. A show your girlfriend is never going to like?? This is fun-funny quick and dirty stuff specifically written for the guys. Dudes, grab a brewsky, sit back, let your girl watch her 'lifetime' shows while you pop this in the DVD and escape reality in a way I bet you may have never done before. At least not often. The packaging on the "complete first season" is wonderful. Laid out in a collectors format with different art and a nice tri-fold 3 disc setup. Its a wonderful display. Very happy with it.

Excited
Yes it sucks having to pay for shows and such but I was happy to know that prime had this show. Oddly enough I used to watch it on sy-fy when I was a kid, waking up in the middle of the night haha. Of course Watchung it now... it was so not for kids but we don't know any better when we're younger hahaThank you prime for bringing back part of Nostalgia for me.

Classic Raunchy Animation
This is an older show, but it has a lot of screwed up scenarios.Think of it as a sci fi version of a more evil family guy.Definitely not for kids

Escapist pleasure.
For the teenager who didn't grow up or just wanted to take the day off from adulting.Silly premise, good graphics, cast ranges from the absurd to the VERY easy on the eyes. The voices fit the characters perfectly!!Highly enjoyable for us lesser evolved.

The BEST adult animated series ever!!!
This series is absolutely BRILLIANT! Funny as hell, "sexually spicey" and executed in a 3D format that's great. My only complaint is that there's only one season available on DVD, this due to the second season just getting started. This is a series I hope runs as long as Futurama, Simpsons or Ren & Stimpy. If you don't like this wonderful show, then I would expect you to be either a drain-bamaged cretin or a humorless religious zealot with yer head up yer ass!

Less funny than it should have been
This TV series is based on a five-minute-and-48-second-long video that was made just for fun by complete amateurs in their spare time. It's available in MPEG form on the internet if you know where to look (note: Patricia Beckman, NOT Terry Farrel, did the voice of Six, contrary to what another reviewer claims). I saw this video long before I knew about the TV series, and it was the funniest six minutes of my life. It was random, irreverent, and completely unrestrained. So when I heard that it was being made into a full-blown TV series, I nearly creamed my pants. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The Sci-Fi channel had completely bastardized it. They drastically watered the characters down, turning Six of One into a moral-spouting member of the Upright Citizens' Brigade and making the formerly ballsy Chode and Gus into complete wusses. They kept their scripts devoid of even bleeped-out profanities and reduced senseless violence to a minimum. Worst of all, though, they relied almost entirely on unfunny sexual jokes, instead of the Invader Zim-like random insanity that made the original so hilarious: "You meant to tell me that with all the crap that's broken on this ship, you start with the f---ing ICE MACHINE?" "Listen to me, you fat purple dung pile. As ship's engineer, I decide what gets fixed first, so if you don't like it, go screw yourself!" I do give this show 3 stars, though, because it does have the occasional genuinely funny moment. Maybe I'm just spoiled from watching shows that are so much better, like South Park and Drawn Together.
