Dogs of all ages will fight over it
TL;DR: My dogs are nuts for them, seems pretty safe, they last forever.I have an adult lab, a puppy, and an adult great dane. I get size L for all three, as these are larger dogs. They scheme and steal these things from one another. They sleep with them, fight over them, and adore them. They last forever and the dogs get absolutely obsessed with it. I noticed my dogs are more mentally stimulated and have less dental plaque from chewing. (in particular, my lab refuses to let anyone touch his mouth, so this helps with him). This is also an awesome product for a teething puppy. As long as you keep a reasonable eye on how far down they've gnawed it, I think (if you buy the appropriate size for your dog) these are pretty safe. The ingredients are very simple, which I love, and I have and will keep buying these things.I know they are more pricey than your average treat but its worth the money.

Dogs love them
The media could not be loaded. Our dogs love these chews. The chews last a long time, and they help keep the dog’s teeth clean. But they do break if dropped on the tile floor.

Highly recommend
Can not say enough good things about these. My Boykin is an extremely heavy chewer. He absolutely loves these and they take him a while to chew. They will break Into smaller pieces if he drops it but once the pieces get too small, I toss them in the microwave and they’ll turn into a “puff” that I let him eat so he doesn’t swallow the small piece whole

Dog loves them
Just got them and my dog loves them. At first he didn't want anything to do with it but bury it in his toy pile. After an hour he is enjoying it now. Last a long time.

Worth every penny! Long lasting 'Yak Cheese' dog chews
Our dog absolutely adores these 'Himalayan Dog' Chew Yak Cheese chews and they are worth every penny. He's a goldendoodle and has been a bit of a super-chewer since his adult teeth came in last winter. We noticed how quickly he was going through No-Hide chews & bully sticks and wanted to find a more economical and longer-lasting alternative that would be safe* (*DO always supervise your pet with treats & chew toys like these) and gentle on his belly. Out of the package, these 'chews' are rock hard (they're meant to be)—they feel like a hard sugar candy and have a light 'cheesy' smell that will likely appeal to your pup. (It's not overwhelming.) Your dog will gradually chip small pieces off and be able to crunch them up, but they shouldn't be able to crack the whole thing in half. But like a hard candy, it will shatter into smaller pieces if hit with enough force. You can actually microwave pieces of Yak Chew and in about 30-60 seconds it will PUFF into a cheese puff that your dog can crunch up as a snack! (*It will be hot. Let cool fully before giving to your pup!) This is a great way to use up the end of the chew when it gets too small & becomes a choking hazard. Microwaving a Yak Chew releases all its cheesy aromas during the puff process—fair warning, your dog will be VERY interested in the smell. These have been a winner in our house and usually last for a couple weeks before the dog whittles them down. Once it's small enough (or if a large piece breaks off), we pop it into the microwave and our little buddy gets a cheese puff treat. Win-win!

I have a Bulldog that cannot have meat products. So that eliminates almost all marrow bones as they have animal protein fillings. These have been a game changer made with just cheese. They are pretty hard and they last for quite awhile. I do put it up when we are not home just because. But it has never sharded small pieces or slivers at all like the bones did. They are pricey but well worth it. Try it at least once. You will be hooked

Smells Like Chemicals
We order these for our frenchie, he loves them, and we order them, usually a couple bags at a time. The past two orders(of a couple bags each), I have noticed two different smells.1st Smell: when I opened the shipping Amazon envelope(blue and white padded ones), there is a pungent and in your face odor of dryer sheets or some kind of air freshener. I assumed(feeling silly now after doing my research) in the beginning that it might have just been stored in a warehouse next to something that has this odor. I assumed that the bags were sealed so it couldn’t harm our little fur-buddy. But now I’m realizing, it’s to cover up the second smell(below) and to say I’m concerned is putting it lightly, as he has been getting these chew sticks for months.2nd Smell: Several weeks after they arrive, it’s usually time for us to open a new bag. Upon several occasions, I have opened the bag and been met with a crazy chemical or organic matter smell. It was hard to say without knowing what it was and again, we assumed given the ingredients(cheese, salt and lime juice) that it might have just been a natural reaction and we assumed because our dog was still interested in them the same way he was a treat, that it probably was safe(because it didn’t taste like chemicals- naïve, I know). After reading the other reviews from purchasers, I agree, it could very well be a mold or mildew smell. Needless to say, we won’t be ordering these from Amazon again until they change their return policy, especially when the reason is questioning the SAFETY of an item. I have always had good luck with Amazon customer service so I am at a loss as to how this could go unchecked. I would assume that if more than a couple people are coming forward to say something is wrong with the product, they would want to figure out what’s happening.Just a couple further details- I have received several variations in the color of the cheese chews, ALL with this smell. They do vary in size, appearance, and durability. The most common two variations in our experience are: a) Some are very light yellow, long and skinny and they chip into big sharp pieces. Or b) they are a dark greyish yellow/brown, they feel much more dense and are thicker/shorter. They do not seem to chip, but they do seem to be harder to chew. Our frenchie(heavy chewer), only seems to finish the lighter/less dense/but unfortunately ones that chip.I hope this was helpful to someone. Please Amazon, figure out what the smell is, for the safety of our fur-friends!

Durable and good product
No bone/chewing thingy lasts more than 5min with our pooch. I absolutely adore these yak chews. They are long (6”), and thick (1.5”). Very grateful for this product, pooch loves them!

Fantastic well worth getting, lasts ages!
Fantastic chews, expensive, shame they are not marketed here by company to get the price down! I found these in the USA , bought them home and my puppy loves them, it's taken 4 weeks and still my dog hasn't made a huge dent in it , it keeps her amused for hours and doesn't upset her stomach, considering how sharp her puppy teeth are its great they last so long and they do help to stop her chewing other things!

These work great for my aggressive chewers
I have two dogs, a one-year-old 35 pound, and a six-year-old 25 pound. Both are very aggressive chewers and I find these work great. I have a "routine" that seems to work well: 1) I store them in the fridge so they are even harder, and 2) I only let them chew them for 20-30 mins per night. After the chew session, I collect them and put them in a ziplock and back in the fridge. In this way, the dogs get three or four nights of chewing fun. They enjoy them, they are much safer than a lot of other chew items, and you can microwave the leftover nubs to feed them as cheese once they cool (be careful because they are too hot to give them right after heating). I believe they are worth the price, but I wish they came in a four-pack! I am a bit distressed that the price has gone up 15% in the past week, though.

Still going strong after months of chewing
These are wonderful. I bought a pack of three and my terrier is still on the first one which has about an inch left. She's 6mths now and it did take her a while to be able to chew it so I probably should have bought her the thinner ones. But know her jaw is strong enough she's getting on really well with it. It keeps her occupied for ages, grating off the tiny little bits. Happy to recommend to those who have dogs that very quickly chew everything you give them. They make a nice change from meat products.

A long chew
I'm not sure how long it was supposed to last, but with my super chewer it was down to the the last couple of inches in a couple of days. On the whole, that's not bad. My dog loved it, but was less enthused when we soaked and microwaved the last bit. It sounds a little scary when she's chewing it because it cracks as she chews. I would buy these again.
