How did you determine that the fabric provides SPF 50+?

All of the info published by them over the last 18 months has indicated that is the SPF -- and other users have not indicated any issues over that same 18 months ...

What is the size of the material when it's unfolded ?

Not sure, because my shade is packed away right now. However the website says it’s 150 feet. So, possibly 10’ x 15’. My husband and I sat under it comfortably with room for a cooler. When the direction of the sun changed enough, we did move one end of the Shibumi that was down in the sand, plus the little sandbag. Easy to do. Best sun shade I have ever bought for the beach.

What holds it down in the sand

Each end of the pole has a smooth, round end, and only needs to be inserted in to the sand approximately 6 inches or so. Additionally, the black carrying bag also serves as a sand anchor, and is attached to the canopy by a cord that is tied off at the top middle of the canopy and pole arch. When the anchor is filled with sand and placed a few steps in front of the arch as it faces the wind, this is enough counterweight to balance the drag from the wind on the canopy, and keeps the Shibumi Shade upright, leaning slightly forward in to the wind.
