Very picky about batteries; won't work with the ones we use
This was a surprisingly good tester, once I got it to power on. I especially appreciate its isolation between wavelengths that many meters (including my $700 AFL meter) do not have! It also wasn't evident to me on the listing, but it does have two ports -- one for the ONT and one for the OLT side, and it DOES PASS THROUGH -- so you can read the power levels in both directions (ONTs will only put out power when they detect an OLT signal). My issue with the meter is the battery bay. The positive connections on the batteries are very short, and many battery positive tips (including our batteries) are just a bit too short to make contact. This unfortunately makes this otherwise good meter useless to me...There is a microUSB power input port that will allow you to run the meter off any USB charger (which is how I initially tested it) -- another nice to have.

when it works it's great.
When it stopped working properly, it was worthless
