Q: how is the force distribution measured along its length? Or does it simply give a single analog voltage reading?

I bought this last year and it actually measures resistance. When no force is applied, you will get a reading of 0, when there is a bend or a force it will be greater than 0! Works well with arduino, i’m sure it will work well with a pi!

Q: Does this just measure bending force, or can you measure the force of flat pressure on it (ex standing on it)?

Both can be tested, and software is required.

Q: will this work with an analog circuit? or only with Arduino type things?

It will work with anything if you have a software to analyze pwm signal from the sensor
