So you might need 3 remotes if television is old, but after mastering sequencing of button pushing this is a fine player.

This DVD player work great. Picture is great. It took me minutes to get it up and running. Easy. Highly recommended.

What I Like:1. Plays Blu-ray and DVDs well. We have some very well used movies which this player runs with minimal freezing or glitching. Our other player would just freeze those movies.2. The picture quality is good.What I Don't Like:1. The labeling on the remote buttons is confusing. Some labels are below the buttons, some are on the buttons, and some are above. There seems to be no rhyme or reason.2. You have to power on the Blu-ray player and wait for it to fully turn on before ejecting a movie that was left in it.3. It conveniently has a timer displayed as the movie is playing, but at 59:59 it goes back to 0:00... In other words, it doesn't display hours played.4. There's a slight humming from the player as it's playing a movie. It's not too loud, but if you're sitting next to it, it can be annoying.I rated it 4/5 stars bc I felt even though I only have two things I like and four that I don't, the things I don't like are minor and don't affect the playing of Blu-rays or DVDs... Except for the remote. I really, really do not like that remote.

My daughter bought me Blu Ray DVD for Xmas. Haven't used my old DVD players in years, but they were starting to breakdown anyway and they can't play Blu Ray. Despite of the negative reviews this Blu Ray player received, the price was good and most of the negative reviews were people who had problems with advanced features and/or they were confused with the numerical keypad (it apparently has no purpose). I just need the player to go on remotely, play the movie, and turn off remotely. Picture quality is very good and am able to play my old non-Blu Ray DVDs and the player is able to enhance their resolution thus I get a higher quality image from my old DVD's too.

I've spent a few days with the LP-100, and I must say I'm quite disappointed. Why? Certain features are advertised, but are missing. First off, it is claimed that this deck can decode and playback HDCD CDs. FAIL. Second it's supposed to be region free for the playback of DVDs. FAIL. Third in the advertising for this deck, the SACD symbol appears. FAIL AGAIN. The remote, which receives plenty of complaints in other reviews, is not nearly as confusing to me, but it does take a little effort to operate the buttons. Which translates to: press the buttons with some force. Picture quality is O.K., nothing to write home about. This player is larger than my other BluRay DVD players, so not quite so compact as claimed.So what do I conclude? Spend your money on a well known player, and stay away from misleading brands, like this one.. In fact, I was going to give this at least 3 stars, but have decided to drop down to one star instead. My bad, perhaps, but I spent quite a bit of time mulling this purchase, and wished I had spent more time deciding. I'm seriously considering giving this away, and most likely will.

It was well packaged and protected. Easy to connect. Hopefully it, being from china, will work better than the other one I had from a different chinese company, that one only lasted 6 months before the sound went out and couldn't get service or replacement from that one.This one I would be willing, so far, to try again.

This multi region DVD player plays great, however the remote control is rubbish. It won't do most of the functions you would expect. The power button, top menu and select work. Play works. But there is no way to pause or do anything else with it. Trying to maneuver around a program fast forward or backwards is not possible, buttons don't function. It's like they included what they think is a universal remote with lots of buttons that have no purpose and perform no function. The player itself is awesome.
