Daron FDNY Ladder 8 truck reviewed.
I'll go against most reviews in here and say that this fire truck is awesome. Sure, it's small, but what it lacks in size, it more than makes up in details. The truck is loosely based on a Seagrave Fire Truck. FDNY employs many Seagrave fire apparatus. The Seagrave company is the oldest fire truck manufacturer in the United States. The FDNY utilizes various forms of the Seagrave fire truck. From pumper to rescues and ladders to tiller trucks. This Daron Fire Truck is a ladder truck.Overall, the fire truck is well made. Largely plastic with very few metal parts. The graphics are pretty nice for a toy fire truck. Coloring is almost spot on.There are three working options on the fire truck. First, there are three buttons on the top left side of the cab. Pushing any of these buttons will activate the lights and the siren sounds. The ladder does go up and it extends. It also rotates 360 degrees. This is all manually operated. The third option is the front wheels are friction operated. Place the vehicle on a smooth surface, push a little and the fire truck keeps going.I read almost all the reviews. Most are critical of the size and the loudness of the sounds. Others are critical of how it's made. Personally, I find the fire truck to be of perfect size. Not too big. Not too small. For children with small hands, this is great. The sounds are really not loud at all. Then again, I am partially deaf in one ear and I am not playing with the fire truck 24/7. So, some parents may get annoyed, but eventually you will tune it out. Children love sounds. They also like fire trucks. Big or small. It really doesn't matter.I purchased this fire truck for my collection of FDNY fire trucks. So, I will not be playing with it. However, I get the whole thing about durability. Children can be brutal on toys. Plastic, no matter how tough they make it, can break if treated badly. This fire truck is pretty durable, but I caution parents to make sure their children do not bite things that may break off. The ladder on this fire truck is pretty well made, but children can bite through anything if given enough tine. Point is, there are some things on this fire truck that may break off if enough force is generated. If that happens, your children are at risk of swallowing small plastic pieces. Just my opinion. In conclusion, I give this Daron Fire Truck a ☆☆☆☆☆ star rating. The main reason is, it is well constructed and is very educational. Durability is fairly high and it has options that make it both fun as a collectible or a play fire truck. I would shop around though. I observed one person/site charging over $100.00 dollars for this fire truck. In my mind, that is entirely way too much. The most one should spend is between $30.00 and $50.00 dollars. Not including shipping. Amazon was just about the least expensive and fastest with shipping. One final thought. If you are searching for a really large fire truck, honestly, this is not likely to suit your needs. However, it is a really nice fire truck and fun to play with. Even if your an adult.TRUCK 8.....IN QUARTERS.

Great, detailed engine
Nice engine. It IS smaller than your typical children's firetruck. But it has lots of detail, and we love that it's "kid-powered", as opposed to RC or mechanical button-powered. The sounds it makes aren't too loud or especially annoying and the telescoping ladder is nice & long. Our 5 year old really wanted santa to bring him a firetruck and he's thrilled with this one.If you're looking for a large, solid, rough-and-tumble firetruck, this probably isn't for you. And I wish it wasn't almost $30. Seems a tad bit expensive. But overall we are happy.

AWESOME fire truck! Durable, great features and sounds....
Really impressed with this fire truck. My 20 month old is fascinated by fire trucks and I wanted to get him a large truck. While it is plastic it is solid construction, great realistic design, the ladder extends and also pivots, plus the 3 sounds are exactly like a real truck. The price is spot on for a truck this sized and I haven't seen this kind of quality in the trucks at my Toys R Us. Highly recommended.... it's over a foot long and is robust enough to stand up to an active toddler!

Good quality, just smaller than expected!
I bought this for my Grandson who all that he wanted Santa to bring him was a firetruck. While it's a very nice toy, it was wayyyy smaller than I thought it would be. I was very disappointed in the site, but there was no way that I was taking it back from him. The quality is very good so I gave it 4 stars.

FDNY!!!!!! Great buy! Grandson loves it!!!!
Little Fire Chief Grandson loves this Fire Truck! Seems good quality, no broken pieces after months & months of use, lights & sounds work great, great detail on the truck, ladder extends (2 part ladder extension comes apart if pulled all the way out, but goes right back together with no problem)

Appears to be a repackaging
This was a birthday gift for my Brother at his nursing home - so I left it with him. It appears to have been repackaged as it was in a shrink wrap that was not well fitted and was a plastic that was similar to a plastic grocery bag! Also, there were no batteries, so the lights did not work. Way too much money for such a toy!On the positive side - it's a nice replica and my Brother seemed to enjoy it. I'll take some batteries the next visit.

What a great firetruck
There is a lot of detail in this truck. The sounds it plays are great. This will get a lot of miles on it! Great as a gift!

Durable
I bought this 2 years ago when my son was almost 1 year old. He has been playing with it and nothing has broke on it. I would buy this fire truck again.
