To be completely honest, I'm not very happy with this kit. On arrival the scent oils had leaked everywhere, meaning starting with a clean up job and making it very difficult to open the oily bottles. The scents say that they are 100% pure essential oils, but they are definitely not. For a start, they don't smell anything like they should, and also essential oils don't leave an oily mark when they spill because they completely evaporate, that's how you test quality. As you can see from the photos, they have definitely left a mark.I have only used the "lavender" so far, and it has corroded the inside of the metal wax melting/pouring jug included with the set (see photo). I have lost confidence in using an oil that can corrode metal, especially when it will be breathed in when the candle is burned. The little decorative candle tins are nice, but they are prelabelled on the bottom with the candle fragrance. There are 9 tins with 9 different fragrances and only 4 included with the kit, so if you are giving them away, 5 of them will be wrong (eg Mediterranean Fig). The candle dyes were only placed in little plastic baggies and they have permated through the bags and stained the sides of the tins that they were touching.The wax included is definitely not beeswax, as stated in part of the description, and I'm not convinced it's soy wax either, as stated in the title of the produce. It looks like paraffin wax, it acts like paraffin wax, and sets like paraffin wax. It also doesn't wash off with hot soapy water like soy wax.The instructions are minimal and don't mention that you should cool the wax before adding fragrance to avoid a fire hazard. They also don't say to what amount of wax you should be adding half a bottle of fragrance (eg to one of the four packets of wax beads, or in total).I can't be bothered to try and return it because I have started using it, and I have enough of my own supplies (and proper candle fragrances) that I can utilise the bits, but I'm not happy and it definitely isn't £35 worth of candle equipment, even for a beginner.

It’s a very simple and easy to use kit. However it loses a star for two points. One there’s not enough wax to fill the amount of tins that they give you. However there is plenty of fragrance and plenty of additional Wicks so that you can make many more candles if you have appropriate containers, or when you use up the candles you’ve just made. Which is great but you will have to buy more wax. The other reason it loses a point is the little sticky dots that you use to hold the wick into the centre of your tin or container, is absolutely useless. As soon as you put the wax on to it, the glue gives way and the sticky dot floats to the top of your candle. however saying all that the fragrances are really lovely. Not too overpowering or cloying. Really lovely smells. The little extra wax coloured hearts are great for adding a little bit of colour to your candles. It’s really really easy to use. The instruction card is not overly complicated, and explains each of the steps very wellAll in all a great little gift Kit really just a couple of little things that let it down

I was a bit disappointed when it arrived in a tiny little cubed box, which when I saw it, I found it hard to believe that the display of the contents could fit in such a small box. The next thing is there is 9 really beautiful varying designs but for each candle tin there's 2 tiny heart shaped wax which I think you would need all 18 tiny hearts to make any substanchel candle! So I'm going to buy more wax to go with this gift for my teenage niece but given the fact that this wasn't exactly "cheap" at £29 I'm going to have to spensore money on extra wax and a metal jug. The one positive of this is that the 4 scented oils are really lovely and really strongly scented. So I don't believe it was worth the money at £29 for what I got. If you are thinking of buying it just br sure to buy extra wax....... And extra everything really, apart from the oils they will last 10/15 candles with just 2/3 drops per candle.

This candle making kit has been a joy to use with my kids. On the whole, with some guidance from me, they found it to be relatively easy to get to grips with. They were soon up and running making great looking candles. The scents that are included in this set are very varied and we found them all to be very pleasant to smell. Finally, I must say that the presentation of this set is excellent and makes a fantastic gift. The candle jars themselves are decorated to a high standard and do not look out of place on top of the fireplace.

Really complete and good quality candle making kit. It has everything you need and really like the design of the little tins. And the size is perfect as too big tins the wax won't burn all the way to the sides. Tin candle holders are better than glass too as they get hotter and help melting all the wax without tunnelling.Very easy to use and instructions are clear.I really like these candle making kits, had one a while ago and already gave a couple as gifts and everyone likes them.
