Is there anything except thec7 pieces to attach them together? I put the pieces together but it is very unstable.

I thought the same thing. it works better when you put the china or plastic ware in it. It seems to fit a bit better. My family members tinkered with it a bit. Otherwise, I was about to return them. I bought 2. My mother in law wanted the other one. I guess it serves its purpose.

Will this stand hold square plates?

it is small to begin with, so unless the plates were very small, square would not work

Could this item hold plastic cups in one if the circle areas?

I put the cups on the Square and the utensils are in the circle

Does this piece come in white??

You can probably buy a white spray paint and make it white yourself.
