Perfect for Home Assistant - Small and Reliable
Very happy with these sensors! They're surprisingly small, which makes placement easy in tight spots like under sinks and behind the washing machine. Connected directly to my Home Assistant hub without any issues, setup was straightforward. The Zigbee connection is stable and responsive. Having peace of mind knowing I'll get alerts if there's a leak is worth every penny. If you're running Home Assistant and need water leak detection, these are excellent. Highly recommend the 3-pack for covering multiple areas.

Works great, nearly instant alarm when wet, Aqara quality
I am using 3 of these with an Aqara M3 Hub. The M3 (which I would highly recommend) has a built in speaker for alarms. Adding the leak sensor to the Hub was easy and took only seconds. The Aqara phone app offered to automatically create an alarm for them. I tested them by wetting my hand and pressing them into my hand, they each immediately notified of a leak via the M3 Hub's audio alarm. They have two exposed metal screws on the back whihc sense water using an electrical signal between the screws. I beieve they would signal a leak if you had aproximately 1 mm of water, so not much. They do need to be placed flat on the surface you want to monitor. I put them in some corners of my basement where water has got in previously. I used these under Home Assitant as well (they work great with Zigbee2MQTT), but decided I liked the Aqara ecosystem features better. Either method of control works well, depending on your preference. Note that you compress the dome of the sensor to push the pairing "button". And a blue LED will blink through the dome. It's not totally obvious to do this.

Some Will Pair and Initialize, Some Won't
Setup was a snap, and I did a test with a dampened paper towel. It triggered right away, and ceased triggering when dried off. UPDATE: I bought 6 more (two 3-packs). Of those six, three took several tries to pair although my Hubitat C-8 hub is only about 25 feet (7.6 meters) from the computer I am using to access the pairing screen. Two more said they paired, but stuck on "Initializing", and then timed out. I did all of the recommended troubleshooting, including try fresh, name-brand batteries. I am returning all seven and will try something else.

Provide Peace of Mind
These provide peace of mind! If you own a home and want to ensure you are notified in the event of a leak to avoid costly repairs are mold damage from a slow leak, these are your best friend. They were easy to set up, but you'll need a Aqara hub (I bought the Aqara Smart Hub M100) to be able to connect them to anything. I connected them to Apple HomeKit within a few seconds once it was hooked up. I think these are a great value and significantly cheaper than a repair. I tested them and they worked perfectly at even a small amount of dampness. I feel confident these will notify me immediately to any potential water leak and plan to buy more.

Works well until they don't
Sensor detected water, but after 5-6 months 2 of 3 sensors stopped communicating with my Zigbee network. I had to put the devices into pairing mode and search for them again. This shouldn't happen. Having to re-pair the Zigbee device

Peace of Mind with Aqara Water Leak Sensor Kit!
The Aqara Water Leak Sensor Kit is an absolute game-changer for home safety and peace of mind. If you’ve ever worried about water damage from leaks, this kit is the perfect solution. The sensors are incredibly compact and easy to set up. I placed them under my kitchen sink, near the washing machine, and in the basement, and they instantly connected to my Aqara Hub without any issues. What impressed me most is their sensitivity—just a few drops of water are enough to trigger an alert. The integration with my smart home system is seamless. Through the Aqara app and Apple HomeKit, I receive real-time notifications on my phone whenever water is detected. The automation features are fantastic, too—I set it up so that the smart valve shuts off the water supply automatically in case of a leak. The build quality is excellent, and the sensors are designed to be long-lasting. I also appreciate that the battery life is impressive, meaning I won’t need to worry about frequent replacements. Overall, the Aqara Water Leak Sensor Kit is a must-have for any homeowner. It provides a sense of security knowing your home is protected from potential water damage. Highly recommend!

Just wasn't what I wanted.
I think Aqara is missing the mark. They claim to be Zigbee connection, but from what I read, if you don't use an Aqara hub, you will have connection issues. I did get the units to connect with Home Assistant, but they would disconnect while moving them around. So, I bought a Aqara Zigbee coordinator (hub). Just to find out it won't work with Home Assistant if you don't have a HomeKit hub. Well I don't use Apple products and refuse to pay for their overprice products. So, I gave up and I am sending all the Aqara products back. Never to buy Aqara again. I will have to say, everything I have seen of Aqara is decent quality. And was easy to use, but if it doesn't connect to Home Assistant directly, I don't want it.

Best in class for water sensor, good price
I have 4 of these scattered around under sinks/fridge/chest freezer/laundry room currently, after having an initial one that I used for over a year. Batteries last for ages, no complaint there. They feel of decent quality, and held up to a dog chewing on one. I have them paired into my home assistant automations, and connected to my zigbee network (I do not use Aqara hubs, nor would I), and they wake fast when wet and let me fire a notification to my phone/announce in the house/and shut off the water main all within 1 second of water touching their contacts.

Piccolo, infallibile e salva-casa: integrazione locale immediata e zero pensieri!

Perfecto
