My family and I solely use Addictive Wellness cacao powder and chocolate. After I learned that the majority of cacao is harvested in West Africa by slave & child labor, and that most chocolate brands contain unsafe levels of cadmium, lead, and mold (mycotoxins), I went down down a rabbit hole to find a truly pure and ethical cacao for my family. This company pays their Ecuadorian farmers 3-4x Fair Trade prices, and also tests their heirloom cacao for mycotoxins, heavy metals, and other impurities. This cacao powder tastes extraordinarily rich and earthy, with no acidic aftertaste. We use their cacao in everything, ranging from smoothies, to chili, to baked goods. It’s that good! I believe this cacao is worth every penny. Every time you spend money, you’re casting a vote for what kind of world you want.

I very much like this company. They have integrity and great customer service. Folks which any knowledge of cacao know the potential for heavy metal and mycotoxin contamination. This brand is transparent and tests their products unlike so many of the common organic brands available in health food stores.I love the powder and use it in my mochas, hot chocolates, chocolate milk, and home made chocolate. The only thing that could make this better is if they sold bricks of the stuff that included the cacao fat! That being said I like the powder because it’s shelf stable and easy to use.

It is expensive, but I’m so glad to be able to have cacao powder again. On a diet for mold illness and trying to avoid foods heavy in mycotoxins. It’s been so nice to enjoy hot chocolate again and it’s delicious in banana smoothies.

This cacao is rich in flavor and blends wonderfully. It's also reassuring to know it is organic and mycotoxin free. It's the same cacao they use in their bars, and if you've not tried their chocolate bars I highly recommend you do.I first found this brand while living in LA. At the time it was easily accessible at my local grocer, but since moving to another state I've not had that luxury of convenience. I was excited to find they're selling on amazon -- and available on prime at that!The best thing about this brand is that I never need to question the ingredients. The founders do extensive research and I trust they would only source the best ingredients. How do I know this? They have both an Instagram and youtube channel that provides an abundance of free(!), well-researched health and wellness information. I've learned so much over the years from their channels-- follow them if you're not already!

Somebody else in the comment section said this stuff is mediocre and I definitely agree. The flavor in this cacao with so many "claims" on it compared to another one I get from a small shop that sells a Tasmanian origin cacao is pretty dull. The one from Tasmania has a noticeable depth of chocolaty earthiness. Sorry to say, this stuff tastes like somebody mixed dirt and chocolate together and threw it in fancy white bag with a cool looking logo all in an attempt to throw people off. Don't know who's writing the glowing reviews. Not impressed

I was eager to try cacao powder. When I opened the bag, I took a sniff, and it smelled like a chocolate shop. I made a lovely cup of hot chocolate and was enjoying it...until I noticed the bug. It was unappetizing, to say the least. The bug looked like a small waspish insect. I looked through the rest of bag and didn't see any others, so that's good.Hey, I know stuff happens. My first impression, however, was colored by the experience.I also would like more information on the bag, including serving size, recipes, etc. There's a YouTube link printed on the bag, but it seems more like ads than recipes.With something like this, I think it's important to educate the consumer. Anyway, I would like to use cacao in place of cocoa. It's a lot healthier, more nutritious, and, yes, is kind of a superfood.
