About the Startup Describe your product in 3 words. Personal Vehicle Redefined How did you come up with the idea for this product? Having traveled extensively while running his former company, mophie, our CEO Daniel Huang grew frustrated by the inefficiency with which we navigate urban areas. None of the existing solutions met all the needs of today's 'digital nomad' lifestyle, so he created the Immotor GO. What makes your product special? While you often hear the claim that something was built 'from the ground up', in the case of the Immotor GO, it really is a uniquely engineered device with over 80 parts that are specific to the GO. The GO is not a gadget but a transportation companion that is easy to learn and use for all ages and skill levels - not a toy based on self-balancing technology or something that requires a pre-existing skill like skateboarding or even biking. What has been the best part of your startup experience? Working with a team of engineers, many of whom were part of the mophie team, to bring a complex new product from concept to retail in less than 18 months is extremely rewarding. Being a leader in sustainable energy and sustainable electric transportation is something our whole company is passionate about.

Definitely not worth $1500. $500? Sure.
Honestly, the thing looks pretty cool, especially at night, but you can definitely tell that this made by a new company who has their manufacturing in China... and that's not even the worst part..Speed: I got one that only goes up to 11-12mph, which is pretty bad considering they advertise up to 16mph. Also, the speed starts to drop pretty significantly after riding it around for a while (15 minutes). It's only marginally better than walking after once you drop below 65%, which happens more quickly than anyone would like.Brake: Careful with this one. If you pump it, it's not going to work and you're going to have to brake by dragging your foot on the floor. Let's just hope you're not going downhill like I was! I had to jump off and catch the damn thing. Luckily, nothing was damaged and I wasn't hurt, but this is a serious liability! These guys could have a lawsuit on their hands! This alone is a deal-breaker...Battery: Like I mentioned above, it starts to die pretty quickly. That wouldn't be so bad if the speed didn't drop after using it a bit. Also, they advertise being able to use your Go batteries as portable chargers for other devices, but I received no adapters enabling me to do so. Of course, that's another disappointment.Charging: It's pretty quick... when it actually works. There were times when I would wake up after leaving it on the charger all night and the battery level would be LOWER than when I plugged it in. Like, what?! Other times, it would charge, but only to a certain level, and I would have to reset the device to get it to charge.Speaking of resetting: I had to reset this damn thing so many times to get it work "properly". Whenever the brake went out (which happened often...) I would have to stop right there where I was, hop off, pull out a battery, and hold a button for 10 seconds, then wait for it to reset and reconnect to my phone so I can set it back to sport mode, before I could get going. I mean, this happened so many times that I got fast at doing this, but seriously, why should a customer who has spent $1500 on this crap have to even deal with that?Speaking of the battery: The battery housing is terrible. Hit a bump that's just a little too large and your door is going to pop right open, then you'll have to pull over, adjust the metal covers, and close it right back up. Extremely annoying..Design: It's alright. - Shell: Plastic does not hold up well. In fact, mine arrived with a crack, believe it or not. What happens if you bump into one concrete bench? Well, you're going to have a HUGE crack. (That hasn't happened to me, but you have got to think of the worst that can happen). - Headlight: This is extremely awesome and has a "wow" factor to it. People always gawk at that, haha. This is probably the only thing they got right. - Footboard: Durable, and has a decent print on it. Nothing too special here. The grip is nice, however. I'd say they got this right too. - Tires: They hold up well and have had no problem. - User Interface: I think the "Power Assist" button should be integrated beside the LCD display, so you don't have to bring the neck up to activate it. The other buttons are pretty intuitive though.. Although, a twist throttle would probably be better.- Locking Mechanism: Utter Crap. Just.. I can't even begin to say how bad the lock is. When it locks, it makes this horrid sound and just turns off. And if you want to unlock it, you have to turn it on and wait a whole minute for the app to connect to unlock it. Waste of time.. Also, sometimes it wasn't actually even locked! I tested it a few times, and I might as well have just turned the thing off normally!- Audio: The bass on the speaker is terrible. One of the coolest things about this thing is being able to play music out of it, but it looks like they didn't even bother incorporating a decent speaker. The horn sounds are a joke too. They sound like something that should be in a kids' toy. They should at least give you the ability to change the horn + lock audio to whatever you would like. (horn should sound futuristic, lock should be a high-pitched double-chirp like the ones you hear from real luxury vehicles, paired with a double flash from the headlight)Oh, and the charging sound is terrible too. Straight up sounds like something from a Windows Vista computer. Like, wtf? It sounds so cheap. I was embarrassed to have people hear that.. Oh, and the battery recognition sound is just as bad. You can just tell that the Chinese developers were like "Well, it gets the job done, right? Good enough!" That's not how you craft a "Luxury" product.. I wish Steve Jobs was still around and worked on things like this. We wouldn't have these kinds of things make it past the first presentation.Android App: Now, this is pretty bad.- Connection: Takes a whole 30 seconds or so for your device to pick up on the scooter, which, in this day and age, is pretty unacceptable. If I need to switch it to Sport Mode, I don't want to sit around for 30 seconds waiting for the app to stop saying "The Go Loses connection" (which is obviously bad English, indicative of pretty much everything being outsourced to China... at least do your freaking app locally, ya cheapskates..)I'm trying to put it in Sport mode because obviously I am in a rush.- UI: The entire interface is pretty wonky and leaves you wondering "Did this command actually execute..?" Maybe it's different for iPhone, but that shouldn't matter -____-Errors: Sometimes, the motor would refuse to start after booting the unit. Sometimes, the motor would just keep running without me even touching the thing. (You don't want to have to chase this $1500 scooter around).. Above, I've already mentioned a few other bugs this thing has.Verdict: As of 9/13/2017, I would not recommend anyone buy this, especially not for its outrageous price tag. Sure it looks alright, and they do a pretty good job of trying to sell it to you in their promo videos, but it's not worth the price with this many bugs and design flukes. It's obvious they rushed production and didn't do enough quality control before beginning to sell. The focused too much on aesthetic and not enough on quality. Buy this and you'll be utterly disappointed after you come across the issues I've described above. Save your time and money and get a Boosted board or some other product that is tried and true, not rushed and deceptive.

BUYER BEWARE
UPDATE REVIEWBUYER BEWARE....Though the concept of this scooter is far superior to any out there ..... the durability and engineering is absolutely the worse. I have been patient, because of the local rep helping me, however I was told that he left and that they are closing their US based business. I have gone through 4 scooters replacements already....but now, have no where to turn. I am told that they are reengineering the scooter and will introduce it later in the year. What about the piece of crap they have been selling. It us disappointing that Amazon even sells this.....it us the first time I feel like I got robbed while using amazon.....This is an update to my original review below....Now that I have used this for a number of months, I just can't say enough great things about it. It is everything advertised and more. I think is as important to mention is the stability and comfort of the ride. If you want to go road racing, then this isn't the scooter....HOWEVER, if you want to use it for fun and first and last mile, there isn't anything safer and fun to ride. What I didn't mention previously is the company itself. The people are amazingly responsive and helpful and totally into working with there customer to ensure the full customer experience. I continue to believe this is the best choice on the market!!ORIGINAL REVIEWI purchased this scooter for the last 1.6 miles of my commute into NYC. I personally researched numerous scooters on the net, test drove a number and finally decided on the Immotor. Though it is a bit heavier then a few of the smaller 2 wheeler's, the ability to fold the Immotor into a compact device allows it to be easily carried or rolled, like a piece of luggage, which to me eliminates any advantage of a 2 wheeler's weight. The scooter is just too cool. It is an easily process to unfold and fold it, essentially effortless. When you fold it, pull the handle up and simply just pull it. To unfold it, simply click a level, pull up the handle bars and your are ready to go. You have 2 level for speed, and different setting for the type of driving you would like to do, ie., sport or econ, change from power assist, which starts the scooter with your kick or if you prefer, start simply by pulling the level. You can imagine the streets of NYC are rough, and the ride is very stable. Definitely a bit bumpy, however, with the stability of the 3 wheeler, you never feel uncomfortable riding. it.....despite the weather.Though there are faster scooters, this scooter travels at a comfortable level of 16 miles a hour, which to me is more then fast enough. Though the brakes work quickly and well, when you take your finger off the speed level, the scooter quickly slows down, so you are always in total control. Finally, what is equally as cool about this scooter is the app. It provides you diagnostic, trip, battery and other information, plus is blue tooth with the scooter. I track and miles daily trying to beat my PR,;along with checking battery level and other things the app provides.Bottom-line, though I purchased this for the last mile commute, it is just so much fun riding it....it's the only way to go..,

Don't buy unless the company will find more funds
I really like the idea, 3 wheels and adjustable height. But looks like the company is currently (June 2018) in big trouble.

Here is the bad: (
Definitely suits my needs. I broke my foot. So it has become very handy. Scooting around in home depot and even at work I scoot around the hospital hallways. Here is the bad :(.

Delivery notes
I don't usually write reviews but felt necessary this time so the company that sells and manufacturers these items take notice.

Excellent combination of features and power
I have owned five different powered scooters over the past few years and this one is definitely the most usable and feature-rich of all of them.

Exactly what I've been looking for!
Exactly what I've been looking for! It's portable and requires way less coordination (for those of us who can't handle an electric skateboard)

Loving It!
This thing's awesome! Powered, compact, and I'm pretty sure they have Montell Jordan cruising around on it in one of their product photos. 100% worth it.
