Great product!
This is a good quality chuck for a great price... the jaws stay tight when clamped on a work piece and it runs true and centered. I really appreciate that it came with a thread adapter which fit my mini lathe. If you're looking for a good self centering chuck on a budget, you can't go wrong with this one.

Fits LA4444 with minor mods
I purchased this one because I wanted to see if I could get it to fit my WEN LA4444.The ridge & hole spacing are a match but this brand uses smaller screws than the LA4444.Using a 1/4" drill bit, I was able to enlarge the screw holes enough so that the mounting screws would fit through the holes and engage the threads in the base. As you can see in the top 2 images, the screw head sits just a bit higher than the face. While this wouldn't be an issue for my intended use of the jaws, I decided to go ahead and increase the countersink just for appearance.Using a 25/64" drill bit, I increased the countersink a small bit at a time until the screw was flush. I locked my drill press to this depth and continued to drill out the remaining holes. The bottom 2 images show the final product.I've not yet had the chance to do any turning with the new jaws installed. I did perform a test of their clamping ability and they held the piece firmly in place.

Nice chuck at a very reasonable price.
Open the box when this chuck arrives and you will be very surprised. It is well made, has a good range of holding diameters and has performed well for me.

keep your tool ready to tighten the chuck...
These jaws do tend to loosen up after a few rotations. So, here's what I do... Spin it up to speed on your lathe, then stop and check for tight. If you're happy, go to work. If not spin up a few times without cutting, then once you're happy, get to work. Don't, I repeat, DON'T trust this the first time you spin up. Just sayin....Fellow wood turners will understand this.

SAFETY CONCERNS
At first I thought this was a quality chuck, however as others have mention, it loosens after a few spins. I’m constantly having to tighten it. I found this out when my piece flew off and struck my face shield without warning. I wouldn’t buy this again and it’s too late to return. Purchased December 2023. Review August 2024. I do use it regularly but shouldn’t have to retighten it.

Great value
Well made good machining. Insert for 3/4” X 16 thread to adapt to older lathe also nicely machined. Exceptional product for price point.

Comes loose during use
For the most part it works well the only issue, the Jaws constantly come loose while using. Every 20 minutes I have to stop what I'm doing just to tighten it down and when they come loose it causes issues with the piece being worked on.
