Nova Maple Candy - Pure Maple Syrup Sugar Leaf Candy (16 Ounces (1 Pound))

Very good maple sugar candy. It must have been made from this year's maple tree sap run. The season starts when the winter weather ends, the temperatures start rising and the sap starts running. They then tap the tree, collect the sap and boil it down to make the syrup and candy.It came packaged in a vacuum-tight sealed bag. The candy was very soft and started hardening after a few days of being open. I was worried about ordering any maple sugar candy from any company, due to all of the review comments about dried-out, hard candy. The way Nova packaged it prevented it from drying out before it arrived. There are flyers in the packaging to let you know to consume the product soon after opening, with about a 3-month expiration date. I am not sure if this way of packaging works longer than the 3-month expiration date, or if they make the candy fresh throughout the year and package it this way. I sure hope so, as I want to be able to order it all year long and not just after the sugar run.Thanks Nova, for packing your candy to keep it fresh and soft. It's the way soft maple sugar candy should be.

These are so delicious! Crystallized maple syrup has a texture and way of melting in your mouth that nothing else does. Absolutely with the money! They are a bit expensive for being candy, but totally worth it. Nice quality! Kind of buttery. Very maple-y! You won’t regret it except for the indulgent guilt you’ll get for enjoying something so extraordinary.

I’m used to Vermont maple candy, but the farm I love was sold out. So I tried this. Never, ever, ever, ever get PA maple ANYTHING. I’d rather eat sand. I don’t know if it’s something they do differently in the boiling or setting or some weird voodoo, or maybe the FOAM(?!?!?!) they packed it in (WHY?!?!!!) but it’s PASTY!!!!!! It’s not pleasant at all, at. All. It’s just a mouthful of teasing paste. I’ve never wanted to toss maple candy before. And to think I GIFTED this to people who’ve never had maple candy before. Nova, you RUINED it for them.

These are phenomenal. I tried several different maple candies, and they all have slightly different flavors, plus they are all good--including these. These came fresh, sweet, with a light maple flavor, and melt-in-your mouth softeness. And the price is great as well. I have seen some one-star complaints about these, but maybe there is variation batch to batch. I will see how further batches perform. But so far, these among my two favorite brands of s100% maple candies.

I love maple sugar candy but think this product would be better described a maple sugar fudge. It is soft and creamy with a good maple flavor but I had my heart set on the granulated candies I remember as a kid. I prefer the mouthfeel of the granulated candies. Not that I didn’t enjoy these they were just not what I expected. If true maple flavor and a creamy mouthfeel are what you are after these candies will suit you well.

The candies came well packaged and are fresh. They have a strong maple flavor. The consistency is a bit off but not of enough to rank the candies lower. The consistency is closer to a caramel texture and dense. It sticks to the roof of your mouth. Now that is not all bad since you savor it longer. I am used to light golden maple candy that literally melts in your mouth in a few seconds. This candy does not dissolve quickly and you could almost say it is a semi-hard candy. Never-the-less , it is good but too dense for me.

I’ve tried several brands of pure maple sugar candy, and this is by far the best. It literally melts in your mouth…they’re so fresh and good! I love them, and just one or two is enough sweetness to be satisfying.
