Only those issued with tags know where to place them to open the door and this can be arranged so that it seems like a casual movement rather than something deliberate. Inside the secured room the principal components are the power supply to the latch. This is contained in a neat metal box with a rechargeable battery so that the lock will remain secured in case of power failure. I was astonished by how little current is required to maintain the magnetic catch. From the user's point of view the most important thing is probably the button that will open the latch from the inside. In addition to this there is a green plastic emergency switch which mechanically cuts off power to the latch so that no matter what electronic failure there might be the door can be opened in an emergency. The system has been in use for a week now. It was a DIY installation and has proved faultless in operation. We are absolutely delighted.

First looks it’s high quality and well made. The wiring video was not exactly accurate but with a bit of googling got it set up in no time. Magnet strength is very strong takes a lot to break the door from the magnet. Also would definitely recommend to get a backup battery just In case of power outages.

Whilst some DIY skill is required, the included instructions should get you by, but there are also video instructions from the manufacturer on the popular video sharing website . Once installed regardless of situation or location, one thing you have to remember is that unless you have a backup generator that will take over instantly in the event of a power cut, then you will be unprotected in this event. As this requires permanent electrical supply to activate the magnet, no electric, no magnet. You have been warned and notified. But as a power cut is a rarity is it really a concern? This is still a very good kit and is worthy of its use. Somewhat over priced in my opinion though. 3 stars ✨ due to the whole needing uninterrupted electric to work proerly.

It also has a full keypad for manual entry for any others. There is a press-to-release emergency button too included and if there is a power cut then the magnetic will disengage or if there is a fire alarm. The power supply is also included. The magnetic is very powerful so you have peace of mind on security. The kit is weather resistant so can be used on external doors too.
