Very Sturdy and reliable.
I did not use the smaller steel stakes. Instead, I ordered 12 inch more heavy duty stakes but those that come with this kit are still ok, just long enough in my opinion. The poles are excellent. I also bought a larger roll of parachute cord to allow more tie down flexibility since the length in this kit is limited. This is being used in my back yard to protect plants in Az in 113-120 deg. F temps. Works well. One thing you might consider, in high winds, the poles tend to move since the bottom does not have a point or a stake on it to put into the ground to stop movement. Maybe take a stake at the pole at the ground and tie the pole to that to stop movement.

Light Duty Only
Have used these numerous times in camp for rigging tarps, clothes lines, etc. They are sturdy enough for light use. Clothes lines are usually fine, if they’re not too long. Tarp rigging like they show in the listing is fine if there is *no* wind or rain. But no matter how much you tighten these things, a strong enough load will push them down. And, if they are extended all the way, they have a lot of flex. We had one bend in the wind to where it won’t retract fully anymore. Also be aware, that of these things get wet, water will go down into the pole but it doesn’t come out easily. If you extend them and leave them out in the sun they will eventually dry out again but if you live in a humid place they might never dry out. For that reason, I would not recommend storing them inside or even in the garage unless you *know* that they are dry inside. They still get three stars because they are super handy. Just don’t push them too hard.

Easy set up but not worth the price.
Easy to set up. I added more rope and more stakes. Great idea but not strong enough. I used them with a mesh 40% sun blocking shade(12 by 16) for my garden and 2 of them bent and snapped in light wind. These are not worth the money. Does quality even exist anymore? The search continues.

Broke on first use
First (my fault) I waited till the day after the allowed return date to put these things to use. When standing up my awning and not even applying tension to the rope at the corner, the top black plastic collar where the rope ties on, broke away from the pole. Secondarily, they don't stand up to pulling side tension, by hand. The pole bends and then they don't go back down into the telescoping pole without some encouragement. Flimsy and of poor quality.
