We love this
The media could not be loaded. Comes with some worksheets and a leaflet with instructions for ideas for gamesThe pieces are very durable and large enough for little fingers. You can do a lot more than what is instructed on the leaflet. I creates lots of different ideas of games to play. For younger children naming and matching the leaves is fun for them. Hiding the leaves around the house and asking them to go find them and tell you what it’s called. Tracing to create a picture.

Fantastic Autumn Resource ideal for Practitioners and Teachers!
As a Nursery Practitioner, I leapt at the chance to sample and review this autumn themed counting game. I always share any toys I am offered with the children in my nursery - I work in a 2 - 3 year room, but we also have a pre-school room for children aged 3+. This set looked great to link in with our current theme of Autumn - and it proved a big success! The set consists of 10 double sized activity mats - these proved a little advanced for my 2 year olds, but would be ideal for older children. The mats offer opportunities for sorting, matching, combining amounts and creativity. The wee ones did enjoy the bare tree images, and added their own leaves to the branches. The mats are made from thick card and have glossed images on, including a leaf/tree guide. I think I would laminate these to help them last longer, but I aim to use these in a nursery setting where they will get a lot of handling, whereas for home use the mats will be thick and durable enough. The leaves are great - made from recycled plastic, so they are fully washable (important in a nursery setting and post-covid!) There are a good variety of leaf shape, colour and pattern. The leaves have texture and detail, including little bugs which are great for promoting counting skills. In my playroom, we ended up using these with our autumn themed playdough - they made excellent prints of the leaves in the dough and the children loved exploring their jaggy edges. We will use this over the next few weeks in our sensory play trays with sand, water and foam - as well as putting them out with the tree templates to inspire creativity. With older children, this resource would really encourage and consolidate maths skills. I am delighted with this set, and feel that the array of ways to use these leaves offers long lasting play value, as you can use these in simple and more complex ways as your child develops and grows. This is a lovely resource for a Practitioner or Teacher, and a welcome addition to domestic toy boxes. Priced very reasonably at £24.95.

Lovely set
The media could not be loaded. A lovely set of leaves to help children learn about seasons an tree shapes. The activity cards are well printed and there’s an instruction booklet to give ideas for games. These could be used in so many ways so perfect for open ended play, adding to sensory trays, or playing games with the activity cards. A real educational asset perfect for nursery or early years settings

plenty of actvity for +... however see below
Slight difficulty with this set is that one of the leaves, ie a set of six is described in the booklet that comes with the set as iron wood- I am no expert, but I dont think in the uk we have iron woods like teak or mahogany so this might pussle a young person (same way it is puzzling me) There is lso a quaking aspen, which I think refres to an american species. So in short, I think you need to be prepared to substitute some british species for these two.: and actually I am not so sure about a redbud either,. So perhaps you had better not use the tree names unless you can be confident that you can name an aslternate british species. Many if not all of the activities can have work around this local difficultyYou get a similar difficulty in the nameing of parts of the leaf. Like "the thin flat part of the leaf is the blade" - never heard this as part of a leaf- and would you really teach a three year old that a leaf stalk is a petiole- which is suggested. We do live in strange times. Those two points aside, its a useful little activity kit with the capability to generate a lot of interest around it other than the nameing of parts though I have to say that this would make me look around for something a little closer to the culture the child i growing up in and made me wonder if I would be totally comfortable paying the quoted price of £25

Simply in love with this set
I’m absolutely in love! Once again, Learning Resources did not fail to impress. This activity set is such great quality and I can’t wait to use it with my son for years to come. The cardboards are double sided, and everything that has writing has english on one side and spanish/french/german so it’s great for bilingual kids. The instructions come in different languages as well and it gives you ideas on how you can play with them. The leaves are great quality, beautiful colours and great for sensory play. They are amazing for teaching kids how the seasons work ( you get green colour to dark brown)This set is also made by 100% recycled plastic. What more could you ask for? Honestly, run don’t walk to get this. It’s worth it.Thanks for reading my review. I hope you found it useful.

Hands on learning activities
This is a lovely set which is very tactile, lots of textures to feel, and very visual with different shapes and colours of the leavesThe set comes with a booklet which is really helpful as it shows you what to do with each of the different mats and explains the activities step by step so you know what your child is learning on each oneFor some activities you also need a dice and a pencil and paper, otherwise everything is all includedThe set is well made and should be durable to pass down to younger siblings and last for years and yearsIt’s well packaged and does not have excessive plastic with the packaging, this is something I noticed learning resources are doing well with all of the products

Such a versatile game/teaching tool!
I have LOVED it and so has my Pre-K son (4.5 years). Of course it's fun to just role play with the leaves. But there are many different ways to utilize the leaves. You can sort by colors, create patterns, improve counting skills, introduce adding/subtracting, count by 18's, and so on. We have loved the simplicity - no batteries, no fuss. All the pieces seem to be made of a hard plastic, which is pretty durable. Such a versatile game/teaching tool!
