But this small, green algae is also believed to have a number of other health benefits as well, such as bolstering the immune system and being healthy probiotic - which was unknown to me until recently.I've been taking this product for a few of months, so I can't yet speak to any benefits of regarding heavy metal removal, but I have confidence that it is improving my overall immune system. In a year with the worst flu season in over 80 years, our family has had sickness continuously since Thanksgiving, and the vast majority of my co-workers have missed work due to the flu. I, on the other hand, have not had any symptoms, which I attribute - at least in part - to taking Chlorella. Usually, I'm among the first to come down with the latest flu/cold strain.I take (chew - another health issue) the 2 recommended tablets per day with water. While it isn't a flavor that I would ever crave, it really doesn't taste all that bad. It is definitely "green", but not bitter. I added several, one at a time, so I could gauge their effectiveness or any side effects. I had a terrible itch for almost a year and had been to my doctor and a dermatologist who could find nothing wrong with me. Finally they put me on the steroid prednisone. If you've ever been on a steroid, you know the awful side effects. After taking the Chlorella for about 3 weeks, the itching stopped and I was able to get off the steroids and am still off them. I don't know what it was in the Chlorella that stopped the itching, but I take it every day now, and I chose this brand because of the price and consistency.
