UFO 550 Reloading Press Light for Dillon 450 or 550

This light kit is excellent! I am definitely pleased that I purchased it as it provides excellent lighting to the work area on my Dillon Precision RL 550C. Installation was easy and fits very well with adhesive on the back of the LEDs. Take your time and do it correctly the first time. It doesn't give off a lot of heat during loading; however, it does light up the work area very well. I recommend using rubbing alcohol to clean the mounting surface to remove any dirt or grease prior to installing the LED "U Strip". It's my opinion that the cost is a little high, as I contemplated whether or not to get this kit, but I'm glad that I did. Also, the power cord is only 60", which I would have like it another 12" to 24" longer as I have to use an extension cord. Bottom line is that I feel Dillon Precision should make this a standard part on all their press assemblies.

I have been using the Dillon 550 for 30-years, and always wanted something to light-up the press so it is easier to check the primer and powder. As my eyes got older, I found having a press light more and more important. I tried a small lamp, but it was hot and got in the way. Eventually, I bought this set of lights and installed it a few months ago, now that I am loading .45ACP by the thousands. Installation went fairly quickly, and the lights have adhered to the press pretty well. The lights are VERY bright, and I can now easily visually inspect the primer before it gets installed, as well as checking the powder level in cases. Whether you get this set of lights or something else, safety is always important when loading ammo, so I strongly recommend you get something for your Dillon.

I did homework on the various lights to mount on a Dillon Reloading machine! Hands down, this is the best system available! I have two Dillon machines and bought one UFO to test it out! It arrived and I mounted it to the frame (The UFO is made to mount and remain attached-not to move from machine to machine to machine)! I was so impressed with how much light is brought onto the deck I am ordering a second UFO! There is a competing light that drops through the center of the die mount block, and it is LED, but it does not throw anywhere near as bright light as the UFO, nor does it illuminate near as much area! The only advantage to the competitor is you can move it from machine to machine without too much hassle! I feel so strongly about the quality and utility of the KMS Squared UFO light that I am going to get a second one and mount it to my second machine! It comes with a great guarantee and there is a great video online from KMS in mounting the UFO properly to your machine! You wont go wrong with this!

Fits my Dillon 550C perfectly and give great light! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Super easy to install.

I have a good workbench that I use for reloading. It’s major negative point is lightning illuminating the Dillon 550. When I saw this unit during a search, I read the reviews and went ahead and purchased one. The key to proper adherence to the Dillon, is follow the directions and watch the video on line. Most important is letting the lights heat up for a while and using a hair dryer to warm up the surfaces. Although it will take longer than 15 minutes, the results are worth it. The extra light over the index plate extends out to the case and Cartridge bins. I gave it a 3 on easy to install because of the time required to warm up the surface area. Also the electrical wrap lock wrap is very small and hard to feed if you have big hands. It is definitely worth the money because the light added is great.

I did not think a light could make such a difference but WOW!!!. I have included pictures of light on and light off. The pictures as great as they are.... trust me it is even better. Main thing is follow installation instructions. You'll need some 120 grit sand paper to scuff up the paint where you'll install the light. Also some rubbing alcohol to wipe off any oil or dust after sanding. A blow dryer to warm up around the tool head so adhesive will stick and don't forget to turn on the lights for about a min. to warm up the adhesive backing on the lights. Once installed correctly mine have not moved and worked fantastic. I don't have the booklet in front of me but I also believe the led light bar is lifetime warranty.
