Do not buy
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Use the wands and love them but this product is not good. Won’t stay secure in bottle. Hard to assemble the tubing to the mechanism. Would not recommend. I recommend using the wine wands instead

Great way to eliminate sulfites from wine
We purchased this system for our friends who visit and have serious problem with sulfites. Although they were reluctant to try it at first, I convinced them to try it. Amazingly, the Phoenix system really does work as advertised! I know our friends will be purchasing their own so they can enjoy wine with their dinner every night rather than having to purchase only sulfite-free wines. And they get to enjoy wine when they visit us. Great product! I will make sure to keep the refill pods in stock.

Filtered out the histamine fairly well
The problem I had with the unit was it leaked from the base. Not only that but it allowed gas to build up & made my wine shoot all over the wall after I had poured a glass & walked away. Then when I tried to get a second glass, it leaked from the air inlet valve. Seems like it had a bad production build. I appreciate not having my histamine reactions with this unit (second unit poured slow but it works) but seems like it should have a better fit to keep from having issues pouring.*** Having switched to the second unit, and having more of the same through this device, I am going to say that you are going wait for your wire to be poured. Second, you WILL spill a lot of wine trying to get half a glass. I suspect its because of a poor seal design with the stopper & the air hole to equalize the pressure to have the wine flow is also of bad design. What I suspect we need for a good filter is some way that we can pour a whole bottle ourselves. Something that maintains a hard seal on the bottle, or use some sort of funnel filter to the wine glass.

No noticeable change for me - may decant
I have been dealing with migraine-adjacent symptoms that seem to get worse with drinking wine. I did not notice any difference. It does add many fine air bubbles so it may be effective at decanting. I used it with white wine so it was hard for me to tell exactly. It wanted to push itself out of the bottle while pouring, but after a few uses it quit. The pour is very slow as other reviewers have mentioned.

Device has to be removed when storing leftover wine.
Product works well. Customer service is very good. But the device has to be removed when storing remaining wine. It doesn’t preserve the wine. So, I had to pour the remains into another bottle. Also, the pods cost $5 per pod, per bottle. At 3 glasses of wine per bottle that’s $5 per bottle vs the wine filter “tea bags” which are only $1 each per glass. Therefore, it’s cheaper to get the bags. Now, if they made the device that also preserves the wine, and doesn’t have to be removed, that might be more appealing and more attractive than the bags even at a higher cost, especially when serving guests.

Great product!
I can enjoy wine again ! Getting a headache or stuffed up from wine is not cool and until now I had to add chemicals to my wine (drops) in order to avoid an adverse reaction to the sulfites in wine. I like PureWine’s single glass wands but having something that can do a whole bottle at once is a huge help. Another benefit is the fact that the wine is aerated at the same time as removing the stuff that causes a bad reaction. I tried it with red and white - both were great. No change to the palette or the bouquet. Well worth a purchase if you suffer from wine allergies.

Buyer beware.
I bought the Phoenix Bio-Pod to eliminate sulphates from wine. I can not comment on whether the Phoenix actually does what it promises.I paid more than $ CDN100 for the product. It came with three filters. I am told that one filter can only be used for one bottle of wine. This makes the Phoenix Bio-Pod ridiculously expensive. Had I known this, I would not have purchased it!
