Helps but may not be necessary
It did pick up some dust that the shop vac and a clean rag missed. A friend did a countertop the same time I did my bar top. He did not use this cleaner and his turned out just as good as mine did.

Works great, a little expensive.
I bought this because I was doing a live edge table top that I spent way too many hours prepping to have anything go wrong with the finish. It worked as it was supposed to but the price I believe is a little steep. It does smell like mineral spirits but it does not dry the same. It does not leave any residue and does not cause the grain to pop at all. I am very happy with how the final finish came out after using this but wish it wasn’t so expensive.

Must have for working with raw wood!
I bought a 10 foot slab of cherry wood that was kiln dried. After cleaning off the bark and sanding it to a sheen, I asked a pro what he uses and Rubio Monocoat was his answer, I also used the cleaner before this step and it came out perfectly. Even the pro I referenced loved it snd this was my first woodworking project!

LOVE this product
Rubio Monicoat was recommended, and I'm so glad I used it. It smells like honey--no noxious fumes, and easy to work with.

Monocoat for bar top
This is the 2nd time I’ve used Monocoat. It is one of the best, if not the best, hand applied coating for wood that I’ve used. I used the clear version on this natural edge epoxy acrylic river bar top. The monocoat brings out the wood pattern, protects from water rings and leaves a coating that is between satin and semigloss.

Great product.
I applied this to my live edge slab table before applying the Rubio Monocoat. It cleaned my table of all loose sawdust. I would recommend this product.
