Bought this as an emergency replacement for my previous (and much more expensive) “brand name” device, which had failed to survive an unscheduled drop test from a 4m ladder.The unit arrived well-packaged and exactly as described. Batteries were included, but no protective case is offered. However, it exactly fits the holster of its predecessor so that is OK. I liked the large buttons which are clearly marked and possible to operate one-handed. (This is important for laser measures because it is very easy to drop them...) The accuracy out of the box was -1.6mm, tested against a known 1000mm standard, which is more than good enough for everyday use.The display is clear and easy to read, even in bright sunlight. This version includes two built-in bubble indicators – presumably for comedy value as they are so small as to be completely useless. Much more useful is the included wrist lanyard, for up-ladder working. Overall, a perfectly serviceable instrument and great value at this price point.

I am disabled and had to measure a huge window for blinds. I found it difficult to hold the metal tape and get an accurate measurement. I brought this and it is a game changer. It was simple and was done in minutes. I remember when these first came out and they were huge and heavy. This is small, lightweight and even has spirit levels installed. The display is crisp and bright enough to read. This is now a staple in the house and makes me feel all modern and efficient :D

Very handy gadget. No need to have tape measures. Most measures can be measured with this but of course some measurements need the tape. Saves time and effort. Pretty accurate too- used a tape and then checked with this to ensure accuracy.

As a stroke survivor with the use of only one hand, but also a keen DIYer a standard measuring tape is impossible to use. But this is so easy and works perfectly with accuracy. Been measuring everything! Only one thing it didn't work on: my 8 year old son wanted to measure the distance to the moon! Highly recommend, well worth the money.

Handy and cheap tool, much easier than a tape for rooms and wardrobes. Has a couple of handy functions to calculate square foot and cube as well as average for uneven surfaces. Display is big and bright enough, very easy to use solo. Was surprised how useful it was!
