I wanted this to replace an outdated incandescent fixture in my office/music room. The light was super easy to install, and they include a thin cable and a hook on the mounting plate to hang the light while connecting the wires. Whole thing took me less than 15 minutes, and I had to add a separate ground wire, since my old light didn't need one. Basically, you take the light out of the box, remove the mounting plate (45 degree twist). Mount the plate to your existing box with 2 screws included. Hang the light from the attached cable, connect the electric wires with the included wire nuts, tuck the wires into the light and twist it back on the mounting plate. Very well thought out. I have a popcorn ceiling in the room, and someone had said they had to remove that around the light, I did not. The light is very thin, but seems to shine evenly around the room. I do wish they had included a mounting bracket for the remote. I have a built in bookshelf I have to reach around to turn the switch on/off. I mounted the remote with a piece of velcro. I might 3D print one if I get ambitious.

In our new home we have a small extra room off our daughter’s bedroom so we wanted to make a playroom. These lights are easy to install and weigh absolutely nothing. Such a big upgrade over the old rectangular fluorescent fixtures. I was hoping that if I bought (2) that I could just use 1 remote to operate both of the lights but each remote is dedicated.The options to dim and change color really helps to have different themes for the kids.Very satisfied with this product

This product is a bit of a mixed bag: It works well (so far), yet puzzlingly, it lacks some "obvious" features that would have made it much more useful. The favorable side is that generally it is good, and fulfills the basic expectations: Reasonably good brightness of the white portion; doesn't flicker; allows adjustment of color "temperature" and brightness (of the white component); gives good area coverage and brightness in a 15' x 15' x 8'h room; performs the basic functions as advertised; appears to be of adequate quality and design; doesn't emit any noticeable odors; and looks reasonably good. The disappointing side includes the lack of certain useful features and capabilities, and unexpectedly difficult installation (on an existing ceiling electrical box). The "missing" desirable features mainly involve the RGB (color) component, including: much lower brightness than the white component; NOT dimmable, unlike the dimmable white component; no continuous adjustment of the RGB color (instead, it allows stepping through only six built-in colors); apparently it does not allow adjustment of the speed of the color cycling mode; and has no "memory" for the RGB color mode settings. It's odd that these "obvious" features were omitted. When it comes to installation, I encountered some unexpected difficulties (while trying to use this unit to replace an existing ceiling light fixture): First, there are four mounting screw SLOTS in the base, radiating from the center at 90-degree intervals, but no standard-spaced screw holes, nor "key holes" for the mounting screws. This made it very difficult to get the mounting screws into their holes in the existing electrical box. Second, the (slotted) hole pattern in this unit's base makes the rotational orientation of its panel almost totally dependent on the (fixed) rotational orientation of the electrical box - meaning that it may not be possible to "true" the installed fixture to a desired orientation - without drilling custom mounting holes in the unit's base, in the needed positions. Compounding this problem is that there are no "reference lines" on the unit's base that parallel the edges of its fully-installed panel, making it exceedingly difficult to position the base for the desired rotational orientation of the fully-installed panel. This makes it necessary to carefully pre-mark reference lines on the base (while it is fully installed in the panel), so that the base can be installed at the proper angle, using the reference lines to line up the base with the ceiling, walls, etc. as desired. Other installation complications included the ring terminal on the "safety"/hanger cable is very delicate and bends easily, causing risk of it snapping off... and for some reason, it was very difficult to get the "twist-lock" panel to properly engage its mounted base while attempting to install it. So, the bottom line is that this unit functions well, but lacks some useful features, and it's mounting base needs some re-design to make it easier to position and install.

Works as expected. Gets really bright, dims down nice with remote, and the RGB colors are pretty good. For the price I am happy with the purchase. Be advised on the square ones installing to an existing the junction box it most likely will not square up to your room. Get the round ones or use the included dry wall mounts and mount it directly to the ceiling. Difficult to calculate how much to offset the drywall mounts to make it square to the room.

I purchased two of these in Nov 2023. In less than 7 months, one of the two stopped working. Tried un-pairing and re-pairing the remote as indicated in the brochure. Nothing worked. Checked out that proper power is available at the terminal wires. Have reached out to the seller. Awaiting a response. May change the review if I get a positive response from the seller.
