For generic bicycles
I used these in a bicycle i bought for 350 Rs off of a Loha-tina wallah (Scrap metal, plastic and paper collector) which I was restoring as a pet project to give to my cousin's kid. The tires are #20s. We used to call them BMXs when we were kids. These work beautifully for the bicycle. Only one issue with it is - The bolt that holds the whole thing together should be long for both brakes. One of them is long and the other one short, which i guess works for the normal "Hero" cycles. But as you will see in the picture, one of the bolts does not go all the way through for this bicycle. So i had to insert the nut from the bottom of the bicycle body pipe (Green colour in the picture) and screw it inside it. This was a big problem because the mudguard was in the way and holding the nut in place as I screwed in the bolt was a tremendous issue. It took way more time and effort than necessary. If only both the bolts were long.We cannot even use a generic bolt because the cup that holds the brake spring is part of the bolt. This is my suggestion to the manufacturer if they read this: Make both the bolts long. If it is too long for some bicycles, the repairer can always cut it to length, but if it is short, we cannot make it longer.I bought this brake set for Rs. 399.
