First off, it's beautiful. It's a deep brown tending a bit toward copper or chestnut, very like the photo here. Each wire is covered with a thermoplastic insulator (like PVC) and wrapped in a cloth sheath. The cloth is fairly shiny -- it could be mercerized cotton or sateen, but I think it's probably something other than cotton. The length was generous; I measured it at 30' 7". It's wonderful; I'm very pleased.

I rewired some antique lamps using this cord and it looks PERFECT. Great vintage wiring look without the fraying or crumbling. I singed the fabric at the ends when I did the wiring and the synthetic fabric melted very nicely into place so I know it will stay put and won't fray. Definitely worth the money.

If you want your Lamp to look its best this wire cord is just what you need. Add a repro bakelite wall plug to the end and you'll have a great looking lamp. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. Amazon had the best price too!

Found this vintage Art Deco chandelier at an estate sale but the wiring was all crusty. I was looking for a cloth covered wire that looked authentic to the time period of the 30s. This really fit the bill. The material was easy to work with and the finished product is outstanding!

If you're looking to rewire vintage electronics that originally came with cloth covered wiring, then this should do the trick. I just rewired two old lamps and couldn't be happier with the results.

We used this to replace the wire on our lighted holiday wreaths that were hung on our brown stained front door. The cord blended in nicely on the door and along the door frame making it almost invisible. Replacing the original cord with this decorative cord eliminated the need for a bulky plug and an extension cord.

I am redoing my house in western so the rope wire was exactly what i needed for my hanging light lantern's Looks great. Would recommend. Great price!

The price is great, but the product leaves a lot to be desired. You have to be very careful with this cord or the supposed-cotton covering slides down the wire easily when you are only trying to expose enough for stripping. The covering material frays readily and is difficult to trim cleanly.
