First of all, I had no issues with how my foundation looked in the jar. Keep in mind, you will need to stir this foundation just like you need to shake liquid foundation. I went away from this foundation for a while and tried others claiming they were the best for mature skin (Laura Geller, etc). Jones Road beats them all hands down. It’s thick and a little goes a long way and leaves you with a dewy but not overdone look. And it doesn’t age you at all! Just use sparingly. The scent isn’t that great but you’re not wearing this as perfume and you will not smell the scent as you wear it. It is strong at first, most scented things are. The price point on Amazon is excellent. There was no difference between this jar and the jar I purchased from Jones Road. I would highly recommend this foundation- it is absolutely beautiful on.

When I received the foundation, oils were already oozing from the jar. Not a good sign. Once I opened it, I could see that the ingredients had begun to separate, which was disappointing. It has a very sticky or tacky consistency, with a super-light coverage. So, if you want to achieve a balanced finish, it would be difficult with this product. It sat on my skin like a thick oil-slick. I have pretty dry skin, but I think this would clog pores and cause issues even in the most balanced skin types. There is a distinct odor from the foundation, but it wasn't offensive at all. That was probably one of the few plus points for me, because I could tell that the oils used were still fresh. Having said that, considering the oils that are used in the formulation, I think it would have been better to have them in dark glass packaging, rather than the clear glass that will allow sunlight to penetrate and affect shelf-life.Although this is targeted for mature skin, I don't think it suits those of us who are aging. Such a heavy, sticky formulation seems to work against our specific needs. I didn't find the coverage was sufficient and it didn't seem like it was buildable, either. If anything, the shiny effect seemed to accentuate my fine lines, rather than diffusing them. It's too heavy to consider as a tinted moisturizer. I really did want to like this product, but unfortunately it wasn't for me.

The media could not be loaded.  I had some broken eggs shells type particles in Ty jar, when I first opened it.And the product was not easy to apply on my face. It looked quite Callie at first.I scraped off the top layer of my jar and now it works great. But I lost product that I could have others used on my face.I like that it gives it a dewy glow and my face feels moisturized , just could have done without the grainy surface at first.Plus, ordering directly from Jones road is cheaper than Amazon. What’s up with that?

I love this foundation! I ordered the porcelain color and it blends perfectly with my skin tone. The make-up is creamy and goes on smoothly. Does not streak like so many other brands. It has a slight mediciney smell in the beginning but it quickly dissipates. I will continue to buy this product.Addendum: after using this product for several weeks I understood what others have written about it. Although the makeup is creamy it has a certain grit in it. After applying it I have to pick bits of solid makeup off my face. Will not purchase this again. Too bad, because I really like everything else about it.

The product is lovely, but there is a weird grainy-ness to it, as if there are little bits of rice in the foundation. Maybe it is just the batch that I got. The color is great, very nice on the skin. It does give very light coverage but flattering and very moisturizing, so the skin feels great.

Now that I’m a bit older my skin is generally good, albeit a bit dry. I used a similar product from Bobbi Brown years ago called Extra tinted moisturizing balm and was so sad when it was discontinued. I’m happy to say that this foundation is very close to it.It moisturizes my skin and evens out my skin tone nicely and gives me a fantastic dewy glow without looking greasy. Some have commented that it is grainy but when it’s warmed between your fingers, it smooths out and applies nicely.

The packaging was fine on the product I received, but when I opened it, it had a strange smell and also a weird crust on the top of the foundation. I know that some of the other products by Jones Road, have a “seal “to the product that has to be broken so I thought maybe, that was why it looked crusty. I used a spoon to stir it and tried to put some on my face. The product is heavy, greasy, and not at all what I expected. I’m deeply disappointed in the quality of this product and I think that it is old. There is no expiration date on the outside packaging so I don’t know when it was manufactured, but I paid a lot of money to find out that this product is not for me. Also, the color that was recommended to me was too dark for my skin. I took the quiz on the Jones Road website and the color recommendation it gave me was too dark.

I think the product I received might have been a return. The container box wasn’t sealed and looked a little worn. The product itself was a mess in the jar and not smooth like you would expect if you bought off the shelf. Hopefully it shifted during shipping.I decided to keep it becausethe price was lower than the other available colors which makes me more suspicious.Color wise I was expecting it to be darker with reddish tones according to advertised photos. It is much lighter.I found it feels sticky at first but blended perfectly with my skin tone and didn’t feel heavy at the end of the day.
