Precision Pet Vehicle Barrier with Door Hammertone

After hours and hours of searching and returning a overpriced piece of junk from a pet store I found a barrier that looks promising. Luckily, I came across another review mentioning this fit the Subaru Impreza. I have a 2014 Subaru Impreza sport, and this is the only barrier I have come across that has minimum dimensions that are small enough to fit in this vehicle.InstallationI found the installation process to be quite easy. Being a tubular barrier, you simply slide in the adjustable horizontal bars. The adjustable horizontal bars ("wings") have a couple rubber rings that help them form a tight fit. The height works out quite well, there are two vertical bars available based on the height. I used the shorter ones, which was the key to fitting in my smaller vehicle. The top of the barrier can adjust quite nicely to the ceiling of the vehicle thanks to pivoting rubber "feet" that also help to reduce marks (they do not rip the car ceiling material but may leave very subtle impressions). Other reviews criticize the instructions. I agree they are minimal but given the task at hand they are sufficient. There are only so many pieces and it is obvious how they fit together.Note: The current set up I am using is to put the seats down. This provides extra room as the space available in the cargo area with the seats up is limited with a vertical barrier from floor to ceiling (since the seats tilt back).StabilityMade it through our road trip. I can swap it in and out of the vehicle in a matter of minutes - converting from "dog mode" to "people mode" quickly.

Not the worst thing I have ever bought, but it's definitely not very good. Here's the issue. I have a 2015 F250 with the crew cab. I got this so my dog would stop jumping on me when Im driving, but I could swing the door open when he wants to come up front during traffic, back roads, etc. The gate has 2 issues. 1) The rubber stoppers that are supposed to push against the ceiling to make it snug are just garbage. They require a good amount of pressure to prevent the gate from falling down, but if you put a good amount of pressure on them, they just come undone. 2) The gate can only be extended (for height) by the bottom legs. So for a crew cab truck, you have to extend the legs to their maximum height for the top to hit the ceiling. That would be fine, EXCEPT... when you extend the legs to their maximum height, the gate is now about 3 feet off the floor of the truck. So it totally defeats the purpose of the gate. My 70 lbs husky just ducks underneath the gate and climbs up front.I gave it 3 stars though because once I rigged it up to fit my truck, it works well. I had to do some drilling and custom mounting to make it fit. But now its great for locking him in the back so he wont jump on me.

We have a Ford Transit Connect Wagon with sliding doors on either side. When we open the door all 3 of our dogs want to jump out but that is not safe for them so we decided to get 2 of the vehice barriers and they work GREAT!! Our babies sit at the little door and wait to be leashed. So much safer!!

I loved the idea of having a door. This is the only pet barrier I found having a door. I was excited and purchased it. Although the instructions aren't great, it was relatively easy to install. The metal rods seem fairly substantial. Now the bad news. 1. I was disappointed that one of the two hard plastic knobs for adjusting the height was broken when received. Even if not broken, the thin hard plastic is very uncomfortable to try to turn with your fingers. 2. The rubber tips that contact the roof and floor don't attach to the rods firmly. Not the worst thing, but it contributes to some instability with the barrier as well as making it more difficult to install by yourself. 3. The worst problem, however, is encountered if you use the shorter set of rods (for 27" to 38" interior height) This short set of rods will push all of the way into the outer tube when assembled, with no way to get them back out. If they are stuck all of the way in, you can't adjust the height. They are not designed with a stop to prevent them from sliding all the way in and the fit is snug enough that the rod won't slide back out. This should not be a problem with the longer set of rods (for 36" to 47" interior height) because they aren't going to be able to slide far enough into the outer tube such that you have no end to get hold of. Unless you're prepared to drill a hole in the outer tube for installing a stop or to create a stop by some other means, I'd strongly recommend avoiding this pet barrier if your interior height is less than 36".

Nice gate, fairly easy to assemble. The top “feet” aren’t very sturdy. However, once you adjust height, it seems like it’ll stay.

This has come in extremely handy for roadtrips and vacations (really, anytime the dogs are in car). It keeps the dogs in the back and prevents them from panting and drooling all over the second row of seats and our baby in his car seat. We use it in our 2016 Ford Explorer.I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, because sometimes the pressure-based mounting mechanisms come undone and then the gate gets loose and tips backwards onto our dogs. They don't appreciate that much. :)

This dog barrier is very sturdy. It fits nicely in my Toyota 4runner. However, It eventually comes loose and falls over because it is pretty heavy. I would suggest zip tying it around the head rests to keep it from landing on your pooch when you hit a bump! Great for big dogs or strong dogs who might persistently try to break through, this will not bend like some others. Overall good product and well made.

This gate is exactly what I was looking for. It fits my Hyundai Veracruz wonderfully and it's not completely hideous looking. I don't really find much use for the door since I'm always driving when my dogs are in the back of my car. I also had some problems with the gate falling over and scaring my dogs half to death. However, I have a cover in the back of my car that clips to the backseat headrests, and I just clip the straps through the bars of the gate and that seems to be keeping it in place.

Price was very good. Quality of metal barrier is OK. The way it assembles inside your vehicle leaves alot to be desired. The top which you cannot see has 2 adjustable "feet", much like the bottom ones that you can see in the photo. The top ones pivot which is interesting and possibly useful, unfortunately they pivot easilly even when cage is installed securely. The cage falls on my dogs every time we go out. If the top " feet" lined up with the bottom it might be more secure or if it had additional points of contact for securing. I am still trying to make it work . The "Door" rattles constantly so I ziptied it securely

Missing pieces and broken. Very cheaply made and metal Broke when tightening the screws, so now it will not stay in place.

I've had this product for many years and love it. The only drawback is the little screws back off. So you need to keep having to check and tightening them. ( Wingnuts)

Got this product for my Volvo C30 and it worked out great. The little door seems useful when I feel I need to reach for mh puppy either to intervene in naughty behavior or to treat for good behavior.

Bought this for my daughters 2014 Jeep trail hawk and she loves it :) Keeps her dogs where they are supposed to be lol
