I love this mat and it smells like nature just came into your space to clean up the unnatural toxins. Beautify and comfortable and well worth the investment for health's sake.

I was nervous to buy this tatami as it has less reviews than most others and some complained of the smell. The photos were also not that promising and I thought I was getting an extremely thin and low quality mat despite the price. Actually, I was pleasantly surprised that the mat has a very nice hay scent that fills the room when i open it or close it. It is lightweight and easy to set up and store. The color is pleasing as well. I found that it does make it more comfortable to sleep on my futon and helps a bit with the moisture that occurs under the futon as well. I have been enjoying making and putting away my bed and tatami daily and find it easy to clean with a vacuum hose. It is also very comfortable to sit on. Perfectly sized for my queen futon as well.

I’m really happy with this tatami mat. The EPE core feels nice and firm, which makes it great for sleeping on a hard surface without feeling uncomfortable. The igusa mesh is breathable and has that fresh, natural smell that makes it feel really authentic. I also like that it’s easy to fold up and move around, so storing it or changing how I use it is simple. It’s thick enough to help block the cold from the floor too, which makes a big difference. Overall, I’d definitely recommend it if you want something comfortable, practical, and well made.

Its the perfect size for my queen sized zelladora shikibuton, unfortunately i dont have the option to remove the rug so it has to stay on that while i sleep. Rent is expensive & i have a 2yr that likes to sleep with me so i got this to help out with that while momma saves some money for us to move out. The smell is a little weird but by the time i was going to bed i didnt smell it anymore.

Beautiful, comfortable, and very nostalgic if you have ever lived with the smell of a Japanese house filled with tatami floors.

Decent budget tatami but don’t expect high end item at this price point. Photos show very thin foldable tatami for this listing compared to my traditional tatami and second photo is side by side of weave. If you are on a budget this would be acceptable otherwise I would recommend going through a Japanese import store to get both quality. I was judgmental of reviews that spoke of the scent of this mat given that it is made of woven grass. That said, it does not quite have the same natural scent of my larger tatami and would recommend only to use in rooms with windows that open to air out. May be better once it airs a bit in a few months but definitely not the same nostalgic scent of my sturdier, non-folding tatami that I paid 5x the price for.
