great for any flower stem that needs support in windy areas ... like ALL gardens!!! 40-inches is perfect for my iris and tall lilies. I also got the 24-inch, but they're of limited use due to being too short. Sturdy enough for individual stems -- just make sure you don't leave them out in your yard, or your neighbors will steal them .....
