What you want is the old formulation of "Seven Dust" which as an active ingredient of 5% Carbaryl... not the new formulation ... if you are treating animals, including chickens, check the label. I don't know why someone would say "No", except either confusing this with the newer formulation or just being IGNORANT. DO NOT buy the stuff that says "Kills 150+". Buy the old formula and you're dogs, cats and chickens/ducks/foul will be fine, but know what you are buying! Don't listen to people who post things they know nothing about.
