FEL-PRO RDS 55341 Axle Hsg. Cover or Diff. Seal

Vehicle Used: 1996 F150 4.9l 8.8 rear end.This part was installed 3 months ago and has 1000+ miles on it. No leaks, black RTV was used, bolts were fastened down in correct order and torque spec.

It did fit perfectly to the differential of my truck.

I had to change my rear differential gasket as it was leaking and Amazon had these alot cheaper than auto parts stores they worked perfectly, I doubled them because of the plastic cover

I'm old school and prefer Fel-Pro gaskets with just a touch of super black sealant, then finger tight for an hour, then properly torque to spec. This combo (with Fel-Pro being the key player) has never let me down with any leaks, drips, or seepage. Full 5 stars for Fel-Pro quality and consistency! I would recommend Fel-Pro products to a friend about to tackle an auto project.

Cost efficient

First, it fit my Ranger. Second, it's not very robust, it's kind of thin. That being said, it seems to work ok, and I put a filter dressing on it just to be sure to fill any small scratches or imperfections on the two surfaces of the pan and housing.

The gaskets fit my 2004 Marauder and seals up the rear differential just fine. These cost a lot less than from a parts store place for the same Item … I like to support local businesses … just hard to do when the cost is so much more from them.

I've been using Fel-Pro gaskets for almost 30 years now without any issues and this one wasn't any different. Direct replacement for my 2010 Mustang GT without any issues for install and 0 leaks afterwards.
