It inspires fun ideas of their own! Lots of laughing!
This author was new to us though she has written several other children’s books. I read it first and every page was pulling me along. Then my husband read it ( High School English teacher) and returned to me with a big smile and said ‘This is great! Lots of new vocabulary and the story just feels exciting’.

Wonderful
I bought this for my pre k class after reading Most Magnificent Thing, and it’s now one of our favorites. Encouraging, humorous and easy to read - we were inspired to create our own Magnificent Projects

A Family Favorite
My 2 year old has very discerning taste in literature and she is, without a doubt, enamored with this book. It's incredibly fun to read to her and she is elated to grab my jowls with her lightening fast toddler hands to draw my attention to the cat illustrations as she yells "meow". I am so grateful that she loves this book because my little engineer heart can barely contain itself with how lovely it captures the curious heart of a young inventor. Buy this book immediately.

Excellent Follow-Up to The Most Magnificent Thing
This is a long-awaited second book to The Most Magnificent Thing. The little girl who is the focus of the story always has so many ideas, but one morning she awakens to find she cannot think of anything to make. With her best friend (her dog) by her side, will they be able to come up with the most magificent idea? The story is drawn with whimsical illustrations that include great facial expressions. The story takes young readers through a time that might be relatable, not knowing what to do or how to begin something. Without direction, the little girl's ideas do not materialize into anything great. As she takes time to sit back and ponder, she realizes that the most magificent idea was there all along. The Most Magnificent Idea includes a great message and lesson to young kids, so I would definitely recommend it for parents to read to their children.Disclaimer: I was given an Advanced Reader's Copy by NetGalley and the publisher. The decision to read and review this children's book was entirely my own.

An admirable sequel to Spires' masterpiece: THE MOST MAGNIFICENT IDEA
A most wonderful sequel to THE MOST MAGNIFICENT THING, Ashley Spires presents a relatable return of her magnificent protagonist with this darling book chockfull of delightful builds, many different materials, and creative spaces. The storyline addresses running out of ideas, making useful things, enjoying the creative process, and how ideas can take time to form, making this read incredibly useful for like-minded young readers who may at times wonder when or how their next big idea will make its way to them.

What a Great Idea
The girl has run out of ideas on what to make and making things is her passion. She reviews her notebook, she brainstorms, she researches but she still can’t find any ideas. She then decides to take a break from making things. She tries dancing, playing music, gardening, and even playing chess but these activities do not help. Her neighbor gives her an idea and her creative juices have returned.“The Most Magnificent Idea” delivers the message that sometimes doing things that you love are not always easy. Persistence and determination are needed to keep going. This book reminds me of another book “Rosie Revere, Engineer” which has a similar theme and is a 5-star book. This one is good but falls short on humor which is why I only give it 4-stars.

Great Lesson!
The long-anticipated follow up to The Most Magnificent Thing (2013) is finally here giving us another great lesson in patience and persistence. When a young inventor becomes stumped on what to create, she tries several different strategies to come up with a new idea. This reassuring read will comfort children that although the creative process may not be easy, with a little determination and perseverance they will get there in the end too.
