Just what I never knew I needed. The rectangular shape makes it easy to get the design right into the corner of my napkins. I have only used the smallest size in this set, but it holds my fabric snuggly in place for embroidery. I think if I were using thinner fabric I might have to wrap the hoop with some twill tape, but I would want to do that anyway.

Much easier on the hand than rings. Lighter than wooden rings too. I settled for 4 colour set for cross stitching. Using it with the shorter ends top and bottom allows one to support easier.

The frames are light and easy to use and the rectangular shape fits my hand better than the round hoop. Happy with the purchase

I wish they held a bit tighter

This is my first time using this shape of hoop (only round ones before) and i mainly purchased this set for the largest size. Overall they seem sturdy enough...there were a few spots of sharp plastic from sprues which is typical of molded plastic but was easily cleaned with an emery board. I found the corners of the hoop held the material very well but not so much along the straight sides, so i attached some bias tape (unfolded to reduce bulk) to both inner & outer hoop...holding well now! My one complaint is that one of the hoops was missing its screw but i can use one from the others.
