Vacuum Tube - EL84 / N709, Genalex Gold Lion, Matched Pair

I eliminate the buzzing of my engl ironball, one of these bulbs was stained and when replacing everything went back to normal. change the pair since the power stage read what must be both. Very happy and nevermore riffs sound spectacular.

Don't know if this is a fair review considering that I may have been one of the unlucky few to receive a defective tube. But they did sound hella nice for the few minutes I had them in my amp. One of the tubes was red plating btw.

Over rated

Bright and good gain in a blue Jr. JJs not as bright. More glassine sounding. These don't fit in all amps.

A while back I replaced the pre amp tubes in my 6505MH from stock JJ's to Mullards, definitely heard the difference. I didn't mess w/ the power tube as I assumed a rebiasing would be needed. Found out as long as they're a matched pair, no biasing needed. Never heard of Gold Lion, more expensive, but that's fine as long as the description is legitimate. Theses tube have given me an entirely new , heavier, clearer & all around better tone than I've ever had w/ my amp, great product!
