To quote a girlfriend of some years ago, It did the job but it's a lot smaller than I'd hoped.
Simple to freeze but the pouch and tie on are tricky at times. Having had an intermittent back problem for many years I have had cold packs from other sources and these had had a much larger surface area. The photo advertising this product seems to suggest that the gel pack is larger than it really is.

Buyer Beware - Freezes completely solid
Word of warning... avoid these! They're not fit for purpose. The instructions say to "place pack in the freezer for approx. 2 hours for optimal usage". It freezes rock solid and stays that way for a long time after it comes out of the freezer, even if you leave it in there for under the stated 2 hours. It's basically useless and can't be applied to the body when it's rock solid. And to add insult to injury, if you wait for it to become flexible, it's no longer cold enough to treat you.Hilariously, the instructions add that "If the pack is too solid then leave in the freezer for less time." Care to give a bit more detail there guys, or is this deliberate vagueness your get out of jail free card? I definitely regret opting for the cheaper brand. You clearly get what you pay for.

Pain relief
After a knee replacement this was more effective at helping with the pain then anything I didn't use the strap as I was fairly immobile for the 1st couple of week

Appears to do what it says on the tin
well made and relatively easy to strap on depending on where your injury is

The pad broke within 3 days
The pad was so good, being able to heat/cool my forearm was very useful in combating my tendonitis. But, after 3 days, the bag has split and leaked blue gel all over the place. I have barely used the item 4 times - would recommend just getting better quality.
