Good movie

The acting is fine. I like McDonough and Flanagan and everyone else is ok. But the movie has a weird pacing issue and is poorly fleshed out. I'm no wordsmith so all I will say is that the movie is off. Sloppy. It isn't a horrible movie and is something to watch on a Saturday afternoon but it isn't a movie that you grab popcorn and Milkduds for. You play it in the background while you are washing dishes.

Enjoyed the movie. Some unnecessary language, but good story. For dudes who need a break from chick-flicks

This movie has 4 stars on Amazon and doesn't deserve even one. Halfway through, and wondering, "Why its this movie so bad?" It rates on Rotten Tomatoes. Even the good actors give bad performances. The bad acting, bad writing, a slow moving plot, and bad directing make this a movie to stay away from. Maybe this is Neal McDonough's worst film.

The storyline is solid, if somewhat predictable (like watching The Equalizer / II / III). However, the editing and connecting completely destroy the latter parts of the movie. It seems as if the script is overly contrived and tries much too hard to force character development as well as the plot. There is no time for real development or nuance. If this were some Michael Bay action film, that would work, but as it is actually a character story, it just falls completely flat. Some of the earlier climaxes also are so poorly executed as to be almost meaningless. Overall, the directing and production is just rushed to the point of being yawnable. There is no connection with the audience or real interest in the characters. There are significant, gaping holes in the plot as well (really should be considered goofs), which should have been identified and addressed during script development. Again, conceptually there is a huge amount of potential here, but the execution just destroys all of that potential.

I rented this movie as it was filmed in Spokane, WA, where I live and there were some local actors that were "supposed" to be in it as well as some that I liked. It was great to see our area on film and recognize so many familiar places. The film itself was a complete waste of time that I will never get back (UGH). I watched the credits to see where I'd missed our local actors (my friends) and only one of them was listed in the credits. So, I restarted the movie to see if I could pick him out (he has a very distinctive look)...went to the scene...he wasn't in it anywhere!! After talking with him, he'd been cut from the scene but was still listed on the credits. So much disappointment all around...the only saving grace was the beautiful scenery and familiar places of Spokane. Don't waste your money or time unless you're a local and want to see our lovely area on the big screen.
