It works!
Great product, it actually works, our partially blind cat struggles to find her way home, went missing in the dark and rain, she was out of range, so got in the car and drove around, it picked her up on a new housing estate in a back garden, had to knock on the door, but they were very good and we found her sheltering under a bush, very wet and feeling sorry for herself. It will also pick up signal through a house wall, thought she had got out, but took me back inside to where she was hiding behind my bed, so good if they get shut in a garage or shed. The collar lights up in the dark and it does beep, but not very loudly. Only one thing for improvement would be supplying spare batteries. Make sure you have back up ones, good quality, as the cheap ones won't last and a long search will drain the one in the remote. The small collar battery as well, but that lasts a lot longer, I keep changing mine though just in case, as obviously nothing will work otherwise, or you can just keep testing it now and then. She has managed to get her collar off couple of times, but you can find that with the tracker, mine was stuck in the hedge. The tabcat is small, lightweight and doesn't bother her at all, definately waterproof with the cover supplied and all in all can't fault it. 100% better than the gps tracker I tried, that kept losing signal, then when you got to the pinpoint, she wasn't there, actually was three gardens away. The range is good, but if out of range, it will still keep searching for a signal, so don't give up, just keep walking or driving around....

Failure of Product from Out of the Box.
Failure! The handset appears to work but one of the tabs seems dead and the other will not pair. This is now delaying us introducing out cat to the outdoors. Hight disappointed and annoyed. Correcting Amazon next.

Works well but with 'cut out' problem
We ordered this for our female cat who goes wondering for up to 36 hours. It was fairly easy to set up although getting the tab into the plastic holder which attaches it to the cat's collar can be quite a challenge.Lucily our cat makes no objection to it being around her neck. The direction finding is really good once the can is in range to be picked up. What i found really irritating was that it stops after only about 40 seconds and has to be re set.The Range of the Tabcat is quite variable but it does pick up the tab on the cat's collar when she is in the average size gardens of some of our neighbours. However for one particular house which has a very large garden it does not pick her up. Overall though it does what it says and is well made.

Only option for a small cat?
I've looked at various cat trackers, this appears to be the only one that is suitable for a small cat. Our adult cat weighs less than the 3kg lower limit for most other trackers. If I had a large cat I would probably have bought a GPS based tracker instead. The tracker itself is very small and light, and doesn't bother our cat. It does work, but the range in a typical suburban area is quite limited. I was able to locate the cat in a nearby garden, but only from about 15m away. There's no ongoing subscription to pay and I haven't had to change any of the batteries in the 2 months that I've had it.

Ideal if your cat stays within 20 metres. Not for longer range
It doesn't go through our house if the cat is in the back garden . It can pick up a distance to e if you went up to the front window. It will go through 3 fence panels and 3 gardens to the side of our garden. If your cat goes further than that you would have to walk in different directions to pick up a signal if possible.I think it's handy but range needs to be further. Not had it long enough to say how long the batteries last or how robust the unit is. But for us it is better than an apple airtag as our cat stays close at the moment but wouldn't be useful if the cat is wonders further.Easy to use.

Easy and accurate
We bought this after losing our cat returned after being missing for three weeks. In fact, you get two transmitters and a detector. The transmitters are small and light so the cat doesn't notice it. We tried it three times and it works brilliantly. It tells you the direction ( left-right and up-down) by the number of lights and the change in sound. The also changes according to the distance, so you know if the cat is moving. The collar transmitter buzzes and flashes when it is being tracked and this makes it easy to find the animal in the dark or if it is hidden behind something. Our cat soon learned the buzzing means we are looking for her and she comes running. A treat reinforces that good behaviour.

Range is very limited unless you are in a large open area. No good for urban cats
The product does work but the range is so limited it is practically useless. Any solid object will prevent detection be that bushes, walls, fences etc. My cat managed to lose it's collar along with the tabcat device. No problem I thought I'll just locate it with the control unit. I have wandered all over the neigbourhood and have yet to pick up a signal. Can't really recommend this product for urban use.

Great item!
I was skeptical at first when I saw how small and 'plasticy' it was. However, I needn't have worried, it's absolutely great at finding our new kitten now she's allowed to go out. She even comes to the sound of the bleep and it's usually not long before she comes running. I would recommend this product.
