Perfect size (and not overly powerful) for a 10 gal.
Not only does this have the “cool factor” written all over it, and the ability to program amazing parameters right from your iPhone, but I was also searching for something that would not overpower fish and corals in a narrow (tall) 10 gal. tank. I would also mention the near-“silent” operation. (I will be buying another one to randomize the flow for my corals even more and also to further eliminate dead spots in the tank behind rocks). Watch an online video as to the programming, however, because although it is visual and fairly intuitive, it takes some getting used to at first; without a video you might feel caught in a programming loop. Of course, once you set the timed intervals the way you like them you won’t have to fool with settings again. There is a handy physical button on the unit to press which will turn off the flow for 10 minutes to allow you to feed— and the settings will resume. This way you don’t have to pull out your phone. I have only had the system up and running for about 2 or 3 weeks, so I cannot comment on overall durability/longevity, but if this thing lasts it will be well worth the money.

This ISN’T the one…..
Functionality:There is no functionality. App only works if you have a 30 year old phone or tablet. And if you’re lucky enough to get it to fool you into thinking you got it programmed then it forgets everything shortly after and resets itself to 100% creating a sandstorm and blowing every living creature in your nano reef into low earth orbit.

Love the programmability of this wavemaker, but could use stronger magnet for thicker glass.
I really like how you can tilt and adjust the positioning of the wavemaker. The programs are great and I really like that I can custom create my own program to suit my tank and corals perfectly. It would be perfect if it actually connected to wifi instead of being the wifi that you connect to it so you can program with your phone. Overall I would absolutely buy another one when in the market for more. The magnet could definitely be stronger as it struggles to hold the wavemaker on my slightly under 1/2 inch glass. Easily fixed with a stronger magnet on outside of the tank.

Good at first
Very powerful. The small size makes it discreet of those who dislike equipment disrupting the aesthetics of their tanks. The setup is cumbersome due to having connect to the wave maker's wi-fi; a system like the AI Prime would have been better (you can control it without having to switch wi-fi networks on your phone). The different wave modes are easy to see but it does become difficult to get an overall idea on a small phone screen. This stopped working about 1 year later. This worked fine for about 1 year. But suddenly it died; I clean it thoroughly but was unable to get it to work again.UPDATE: bought a 2nd one in August 2019. It is now July 12, 2020 and it has stopped working. According to manual, red blinking light means rotor is stuck. But I've cleaned it meticulous and it does not work at all.

Quiet and powerful for it's size
This is a great little (and I mean tiny) wave maker system. I wanted a small footprint in my IM Fusion 20 and this seemed like the right thing to get. I actually just ordered a second one for the opposite side of my tank. The app is not as "dummy" proof as a lot of things are these days, but it works flawlessly for me and my iPhone. I see a lot of complaints about the way that you connect to these pumps and the directions that come with them leave a lot to be desired for sure, but with just a little poking around in the settings you can make it connect to your home network and therefore connect to the cloud. The pump itself is extremely quiet and powerful especially for its size.

There is no hydor or Aqamai app in the Apple App Store making this pump uncontrollable for iOS users
This wave maker is advertised as controllable through an app, both for iOS and Google users. After purchasing and installing this pump, I was amazed to find there is no longer a Hydor app or Aqamai app available in the Apple App Store. As a result, this nano size wave maker only runs at 50% power with no programming available, rendering it useless. The Hydor website, along with this Amazon page, as well as the Akamai KPS packaging and tutorial videos all clearly state this pump is app driven for iOS users. I tried to contact Hydor customer service about this issue but received no reply. I had to pull this pump back out of my tank just after having installed it, and return it to Amazon.

Best nano reef wave maker for the money.
I have a 13.5 Fluval Evo reef aquarium. I have tried 5 different wave makers and this is the only one that has worked for me. The app is relatively easy to use once you figure it out. Most others use a digital or mechanical controller and are extremely difficult to program. At half the price of the mp10, this is the only nano reef wave maker that I could ever recommend.

was great until 3 months in and it failed
was a great pump for my nano tank, came home one day to the controller blinking red (something stuck in propeller) confirmed that was not the case but took it out and cleaned it anyway. Put it back in tank still blinking red tried reset still not working. would love to know how to get in contact with the company or just buy a nero 3 from AI
