DR Strings Hi-Def Neon Blue Electric Heavy

I love these , yes the color flakes off where you hit the strings with your pick.I like the way they feel under my fingers.I am a family new player. The visual really works for me.

These strings are awesome. I am happy. They feel good, are very fast and they look amazing.They stay in tune and were not a problem to put on.(Floyd Rose type system)I had someone warn me that coated strings would sound like I had a sock on them, not the case. The sound through my Randall is amazing. These strings made me fall in love with my seven string. I am an experienced 6 string player and I have a nice Ibanez S7420 that has essentially sat in it's case for 10 years as I played my six strings and played bass doing shows etc. We decided to hang all my guitars on the wall, and since I needed new strings on the 7420, I decided to give these a shot, and I am so glad I did. They are made in the USA and honestly, when I pulled them out of the pack to string them, there were lots of "oohs" and "ahhs"Dang, these things are BRIGHT green. I went with the 10's to keep that low end crunch. Now, the 7420 with these super bright green strings is my guitar of choice. Major compliments on it as well. It looks totally tricked out. When I played them, that sealed the deal. Now I want to get some for my Jackson and Charvel.My normal choice for strings for 6 strings are GHS Boomers, 009-46. I have played guitar professionally on a local level since the early 90's. When I started playing bass for a band 6 years ago, I went to Cleartones for my Ibanez SR500. Those are coated strings that are amazing as well.If I can figure out how to post a pic, you'll see what I am talking about.

I mostly play bass and when I started trying to learn guitar with Rocksmith, I found that I was having trouble getting the colors of the first three strings (G, B, and e) down pat in my mind. I would always go for the wrong string when they came up on the chart. I bought these in the hopes that they would help me get the colors down.I was surprised by how good the quality of these strings was. I expected cheap, flimsy strings, since the main draw here is the colors, but these strings sound and play great and are very durable. The color also lasted much longer than I expected; after playing every day for a month, it had barely faded at all. Also, have no fear about the color rubbing off onto your fretboard or picks, it doesn't.I have two main problems with the strings, though. The first is that they don't visually "pop" as much as I thought they would. I put them on my white Les Paul, thinking that the colored strings would really stand out and give the guitar a cool look, but that wasn't the case. The only string that really pops is the yellow A string, the rest look a bit muted. This isn't a huge deal if you're using them primarily for learning, but if you're looking to give your a guitar a unique look, you should look elsewhere.The biggest problem in my opinion is that the colors of the first two strings, B and e, are very hard to see, even close up. I understand that this is probably because of the thinness of those strings, but it was disappointing to me since these were the strings that gave me problems. Sure, you can kind of see the green on the B string in good lighting, but the e string doesn't even look like it has a color.If you're looking to just have a visual reference for all of the strings, this should work. The rest of the colors are nice and clear, if a bit dull. The strings themselves are nice too. I just wish they put more work into making the thinner strings more readable.

I didn't read closely enough. These lovely strings don't work with my Bass. They would be great on a guitar. The appearance is very nice, but the ball end slips through the tail stock. I may try again with an adapter. They are beautiful and have a nice feel.

I’ve put the DR coated strings on four guitars that I have. I love the way they feel and make it easier for me to play as an old guy. I will admit that there is some flaking on some strings where they are fretted. I think maybe the oils and stuff in my fingers contribute. I’m not sure. It doesn’t come off where you’re picking or playing the strings just on the fretboard and usually just on the b&e strings. But like other DR strings I use they have a good sound quality.

Product is a cheap 4. It’s UV reactive & neon kitschy, bright under regular lighting as well. Not impressed with the quality - the coating on 1st string started to peel after 15 minutes of playing. Picture attached is under UV light to show peeling. Can't tell you how these sound beyond install and setup, that’s all the longer that 1st string lasted with a run of the mill medium fender pick.Can’t contact seller or manufacturer for insight if this is real.Amazon frustration is real. Impossible to contact the seller, can’t return if there is a problem. Can’t get any answers. Just endless circles of customer service not understanding you can’t return the item in unused condition because if you install them on your instrument, it can’t be undone. Goodness forbid you cut strings when removing them.

Cool strings for using with Rocksmith or to help a new player learn with Rocksmith and they sound very good

For being coated strings these are pretty great sounding. The paint chips off pretty easily during normal play. But they sure do add a unique esthetic to your guitar. Sacrifice sound over looks?
