Progresso Light Chicken & Dumpling Soup, 18.5 oz

This is very convenient and a hearty portion. There is still too much salt so we use this when we are really scratching our heads about what to do but we need protein. Very tasty.

What I like about this Progresso soup is: - Low calorie, you can eat the entire can for 160 calories - Each can has 1/2 cup of vegetables - The soup is soooooo delicious - Very filling, you won't go hungry

I am a big fan of canned food. Progresso has never let me down before, and this flavor makes no exception to that. The taste is just so right. It does not taste salty or too sweet. Eating it really gives you a warm feeling. When you boil it the smell makes it very irresistible. Better get a tissue quick before you freak someone out with that watery mouth. Nothing more I can say really, since it tastes so nice that word cannot describe it properly. Perhaps the only downside to this soup is that the dumplings are small and lack texture and filling to it. For that I took a star away from this review. Note: I highly recommend you boil canned food for fifteenth to twenty minutes before serving (ten minutes if you lived at elevated area). Not only does it make it tastes better than microwaved, but it also gives you a better sense of safer serving. Another note: Shipping carriers often don't know the word "gentle". I have received a package where some cans were dented. Consider this when you are purchasing canned food online.

So I decided to go on a Progresso soup diet. I've done this in the past as well. This time I ate a good full healthy breakfast, eggs toast oatmeal some sort of protein. Then, I had a can of this soup for lunch and another can for dinner. It fills you up. The chicken and dumplings soup taste so good. It's one of their better flavors. I also like the chicken fajita and black bean soup.

Adequate but a bit too light and thin

This is absolutely delicious soup and even if you eat the whole can, you only consume 160 yummy, filling calories. I order this by the case, as I like it year round. It's good to have on hand in case someone has an upset tummy or the flu too. There might not be any left for those causes after I get finished plowing my way through the case, but it is really tasty.

I'm usually a glutton for thick, hardy and rich bursting with flavor and fear the dieter's demise of the thin, limp and watery but I was in for a surprise when I opened this. Firstly having the pop-up solves an immediate problem and secondly the soup is just a delight to eat. It has plenty of flavor even of a rich stock of parsley perhaps and the textures of all the just-the-right-size finely cut veggies and handmade pasta dumplings is just soooo good. I've had it three days in a row!
