My old one worked sometimes. The new one worked all the time.

I had been worried, so many reviews saying that the cord generated an error message or didn't charge the computer. I got this cord purely for convenience when I need to take my laptop out of my office. I didn't want to spend more on an actual Dell product. I took a chance and and happy with the charger. I am using it with a Dell Vostro and my computer is charging/running just as it does with the original cord.

Great replacement after my other power supply ended up a puppy chewy

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 5000 and I was looking for a spare charger for work. This charger fits perfectly in the charging port of my computer and appears to charge the computer as fast as the original Dell charger. The reason I took off a star is that the adapter gets hot, I mean really hot (much hotter than the original Dell charger). I am not sure if this will ultimately affect the longevity of the product but I would certainly make sure the adapter is not in an enclosed space or touching your skin. Other than that, it does work admirably
