Suitable for long hours of writing
I adore nearly everything about this pen other than its nib which - although it is stamped EF - remains a F by any standard. A disappointment! Otherwise, this pen is a well-engineered, well-balanced and very comfortable pen suitable for many long hours of writing.

Beautiful pen, and I don’t even care for pink
I purchased this pen through amazon because it had the best pricing and was glad a genuine lamy arrived in the mail. I got the rose gold LX with a fine nib. It came complete with the pen case and a couple of lamy blue ink cartridges. I love the color of the pen and how strudily built lamy pens feel, in general. The rose gold clip is a nice touch and really makes the pen look very sleek and professional. I normally don’t care for pink but after seeing someone with this pen in person, I knew I had to have this pen, it’s so beautiful in real life. The fine black steel nib writes buttery smooth for me without any issues. The fine tipped nib writes pretty wet and would be the equivalent of a medium or broad Japanese nib. However, because it’s so much broader than a Japanese fine nib, this means you will get a decent amount of shading and sheening when writing with certain bottled inks. Unfortunately, the lamy blue ink cartridge the pen comes with is pretty basic, it doesn’t have much noticeable shading and looks very similar to a very boring/flat blue ballpoint pen ink. I didn’t purchase a converter when I got this pen because the lamy converters don’t hold very much ink, especially in comparison with the cartridges. So, once I finished up my first lamy cartridge, I cleaned the pen out thoroughly and used an ink syringe (a syringe paired with a blunt tipped needle) to rinse out the used cartridge and refilled it will bottled ink from another brand.

Lamy fountain pen
I am in love with my Lamy fountain pens and decided to explore with a different color since this one was on sale! Lamy is a great starter pen for newbies. It writes so smooth on most papers and my handwriting is getting better or it could me just me and not the pen. 🤣😂 The ink flows really well, its a very durable pen and I love the design and its functionality.

Overall a Nice Pen
I bought this to replace an old Lamy Safari I had abused in my college years. I am somewhat dissapointed in this PVD coated nib. I figured it would be similar to my standard EF nib, but it is ULTRA fine in my opinion. If I write with my normal weight I get less ink than a typical ballpoint pen, sometimes actually with un-inked script. If I give a little weight to my writing I get a decent line, but it feels very scratchy. Moreso than my standard EF nib. PVD is supposed to be the creme de la creme of surface coatings for anti friction, so that was pretty disappointing when it was scratchier than my standard nib. I thought it would loosen up a bit with some writing, but after about a month of writing with it, it's still the same. I've even tried flexing it open against paper to try and get the nib to give me a little more line weight, it's not happening. I am considering ordering a F PVD coated nib. Perhaps that will suit me better. I just put my other EF nib on this for now and will keep writing. As for the pen, I was a little concerned it was a knock off. The pocket clip is floating in the cap (slides in and out), and I had to tighten it a little more than I thought I should to get the barrel lined up with the grip. It also came in a card stock sleeve with no documentation. But, I know my other nib is genuine and it fits like a glove. Maybe I just got one that was QCed poorly. It is 2023 after all... Perhaps even German quality standards are going downhill. That aside, I like the pen, I wish they had an option for black, but the silver is nice and I like that it is metal instead of plastic. At first I didn't like the clear grip, but after filling it with some Noodler's Bulletproof, it has a unique look that I find appealing. Overall, an upgrade from the Safari but I wish the nib felt and wrote better.

Broad nib at its finest
Great for shading and filling in features, not so great for writing as the ink will flow to fast, unless you are going for thick letters. Med and fine are better for day to day writing. Weight and handle are great for constant use daily. Swapping cartridges are easy to do per Lamy cartridges. Great starter fountain pen for shading and great value for money.

Great first impressions
My first fountain pen experience has been great so far. I ordered the extra fine version because I heard fine and extra fine work well on lower quality papers. This pen has worked great with my moleskin planner. No bleeding or feathering. I get some scratch, but it's somewhat infrequent. Writing experience, a+ Build and materials are also excellent. I was expecting the pen to have more weight to it, but it's exceptionally light. That might be my only note. It's so light that it makes me wish there was more to it. Holding it you might think it's made of plastic. But it's not. It's all aluminum which will hold up for decades to come. 9/10 would recommend.

Great pen with conditions
I haven't had many good experiences with lamy safaris before. Had issues with nib quality with pens out of the box. Decided to splurge on a Lamy LX pen and first one out of the box had the smoothest nib I've ever experienced from Lamy. I'm aware lamy nibs are hit and miss. There is a lack of consistency in nib sizing and quality, but once you get a nice one it is like butter. Can't speak if the ef nib I have is a true ef, but it is a thin line.

LX EF NIB helps Shimmer and Sheen Inks Come Through!
This is my first Lamy and I’m absolutely in love! I haven’t stopped writing with it! I purchased a regular Safari for comparison and the LX EF NIB writes smoother and wetter then the Safari Savannah Black EF NIB! The LX is totally worth the little extra for the NIB and matching Aluminum case! I’m ready to gives up my other fountain Pens for this Lamy LX! The first I ordered had slight scratches on the aluminum but Amazon quickly replaced it. I ordered a Z28 converter and my shimmer and sheen inks flow through this pen with out clogging! So far I’ve used J. Herbin Emerald of Chivor, Diamine Blue Pearl, and Diamine Majestic Blue. The shimmer and sheen comes through on several of my journals; including Midori travel journal. I highly recommend this pen, especially at the Amazon price! I purchased it for as low as $44-$48! Converter was $5.28 through Amazon as well! It’s difficult to love EF NIBS and shimmer and sheen inks that are normally recommended with bolder NIB sizes so to have my favorite ink colors come through with a EF NIB?!? I’m amazed!

Favolosa!
Una delle migliori stilografiche che abbia provato. Design elegante e minimal, pennino preciso e tratto pulito. Rapporto prezzo/qualità altissimo! E' una penna stilografica con la versatilità di una biro!

Nib F size
I bought it, and his nib F size, I think nib EF size is well to me, however the pen is high quality, I’m joyful.

My favorite Lamy pen so far
I bought the Ruthenium with Fine nib, and I couldn't be happier. I have 2 other Lamy Safaris (plastic black and plastic white) but as the name suggests, this is truly the luxury version of the Safari. The nib even though that is fine is very smooth.
