Nice and dark
These charcoal pencils leave a nice dark line when used for drawing. The come in a range of hardness from Medium to Extra Soft and there is a significant difference from one hardness to the next. You can get some nice effects drawing with these. And the charcoal doesn't get on your hands.

Great for learning to draw
My 15 YO recently took to drawing (past couple of years) and asked for some sketching pencils. These are great and he loves them. Different pencil for different styles. He uses them in art class as well

Change my mind about these Charcoal Pencils When I got them they were not sharpening properly at all and I was wondering what the heck is going on with this. But I used an electric sharpener and as you can see from the additional photos they look very good and I really enjoyed working with these. I have bought a number of charcoal pencils this month and I have to say so far all of them are very good.

Good for sewing
I was making a dragon Halloween costume for my granddaughter, and needed a way to mark the pleather and felt. This chalk worked very well, was easy to use, and rubbed off without leaving a mark. Highly recommend!
