Affordable USB-C to USB-A Hub that works well with low power USB devices
I'm using this with a 2017 MacBook Pro 15". I have connected an iPhone 7+, iPad Mini4, Canon printer (MX922) and a Western Digital My Passport 1TB portable USB drive to the Hub with no issues - everything works fine. All devices can be connected simultaneously with no issues. I tried to connect the Apple USB Super Drive, but it draws too much power and will not work with this Hub. Low power devices seem to work fine.

Exceptional value
I currently have this plugged into my MacBook and a WebCam microphone, digital analog channel plugged in. Everything works great.

Not for non-powered ports
I bought one of these through a different vendor. If you have a powered USB-C port it will work great. If you have, for instance, a HP Elite X2 (which only has USB-C ports on it) it won't work for you. StarTech Support was very prompt and friendly with me, but did explain that the ports don't have enough power to use this hub. I can plug it into my powered DOCK Station and it works fine (though not needed there). Just FYI.
