At first this salt lamp didn't impress me, it looked "dirty" and unattractive. But the more I see it illuminated the more I like it. Turned off it isn't particularly attractive but turned on it produces a beautiful soft light. The photos show a salt crystal of a deeper shade than I received but mine does appear to be authentic pink salt.As for the health benefits of heating up salt to produce ions... well, I did a little research, I'm skeptical how much of an effect it could actually have. In theory the salt attracts polluted water vapor, the toxins remain trapped in the salt while the clean water is heated and released back into the air. So what happens when the salt is "full" of toxins? Certainly it can't have an infinite ability to trap toxins.Studies like PubMed ID 10161255 give weak support to some health benefit. Most "halotherapy" does NOT use salt lamps for testing / research.Is it worth the 15 watts of energy spent to run these lamps?

This is my first salt lamp and I don’t know if any of the health benefits are true. However, the lamp itself is pretty cool. It’s much heavier and larger than I expected - the height of my lamp (including the base) was almost 9 inches tall and at its widest, about 6 1/4 inches wide.Color-wise, my salt was a pinkish-orange color with white. (The amount of white was similar to what’s shown here, but my pink-orange color was lighter than what’s shown here.)The warnings make sense when you realize that yes, this is salt. So keep it away from water and humidity (the bathroom is not a good place for this lamp.) and keep away from windows and moisture.It’s gives off a nice soft glow. I can see using this as a night light. I really like it.

I like this lamp a lot. It gives off such a pretty warm glow. It is the perfect size for my desktop and I like having the dimmer available as well. I can't really comment on whether this makes me feel better or not, but I do enjoy looking at it.It was very easy to assemble.I will note that the actual packaging box, with the product label on it, is thin cardboard and the lamp is too heavy for it. My box, even inside the Amazon shipping box, was crushed. The lamp tself had a few hard knocks and there were salt particles in the bag. The manufacturer would do well to consider packaging these in a sturdier box.

This is a nice lamp. I have left it on for a week straight and honestly nothing magical has happened. It is a nice design and looks cool. It is much better than the other one I have that is just a basket filled with Himalayan Rocks. The reality is that I really don't think it has helped us sleep better, feel more rested, improved the air, or improved our mood. Overall it is just a cool looking lamp. I would recommend it for the right price just to be used as a lamp. Funny story:their pamphlet that came with the lamp had a typo

This is a nice looking salt lamp.It's pinkish orangeish in color. The light is mild so would just add a little ambience.When I took it out of the package, it littered all over my counter. I suppose some of the salt gets loose during shipping.It's super easy to set up - just screw in the bulb, place the bulb inside the lamp, plug in, flip on. So simple!The cord is plenty long to reach any height table. There is an on/off switch on the cord which is super handy.This is a great gift!

I'm still not sure if I buy the hype that comes with these salt lamps, however, even placebos have been proven effective and beneficial to people's health, so, meh...okay. These lamps are pretty weighty. I was surprised the first time I picked one up. The light is a nice invitingly warm glow, making the bedroom feel nice and cozy. The color is soothing and using it, instead of my brighter lights in my room at night make it easier to fall asleep at night.
