Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets Of Dumbledore Original Soundtrack

Love the score/music. It's easy to get lost in, and can be relaxing. I love the movies, so had to have the music! Wish they'd do the rest of the movies they planned!

I have studied music at the college level, and am a musician. I purchase usually 100 plus CDs each year, most in the ‘Classical’ venue. I listen to lots of music. This will not be ‘your’ usual review. As a small child, music swept me away, and I cried often, never knowing why. Studying music did not explain the effect it has on me. I will never know exactly, but when I ‘like’ music, it is as if it has a healing effect. It explains things otherwise not understood. That being said;Hans Zimmer, in a Master Class on writing soundtrack music, went out of his way to mention, he had had the privilege of working with “The Great Composer, James Newton Howard”. As I studied music, I heard several times that Mozart, or Beethoven, were they here today, would be found writing music for movies, or video games. I hear in Maestro Howard’s music, a stunningly good composer, with a vast musical imagination, and keen use of the musical tools available in use today. But I also hear the ability to jump right into any of the previous forms of previous times, and express himself perfectly. A one-time concert pianist, Maestro Howard never seems to use virtuosity, choosing rather to state musical thoughts calmly. The editing on these CDs are well thought out, for bombast is followed at some point by calming reflection, also making the the introspection that much more effective.Everyone gets something different from music, the true ‘heart felt intelligence’ so the beauty is in the ear of the beholder. I have yet to see the movie, but this music truly stands on it’s own as a thing of beauty. I thought that Fantastic Beasts 1 would be very hard to beat as a soundtrack, but I find this to go to another level. All these little ‘thoughts’ although written for a particular scene, or event, are complete in and of themselves. Some of the longer, more complete ‘poems’ are his voice, his musical voice, coming out.I have many soundtracks around here, but I find James Newton Howard to be able to cast musical spells, and always produce entertaining, and emotionally moving music. I bought this after the movie because I liked the score so much

The emotions within the songs are great. Still uses some of John Williams tune and blends it perfectly. A great music cd.

James Newton Howard once again creates a magic and memorable score for this third film. It was a delight to listen to.

I enjoy listening to soundtracks while I read. This album is a great addition to the previous films!

This review is entirely based upon the fact that I got two copies of the same disk, 2. Three days too late to return.
