Great product
I had the beginnings of an eye problem that the eye doctor was keeping track of.. I found out about lutene And it's benefits so I decided to give it a try during the sux months. Until my next visit. The problem had cleared up and that eye doctor was amazed and ask me what I had done.. I had purchased products from this company before and know they were good. I would highly recommend.

A review for green-eyed people
This review is for green-eyed people (like me). A few years ago, I met a man with green eyes who asked me if I had good night vision. I told him I have excellent night vision. He then asked about my day vision and I admitted that it had been many years since I had been able to go outside without sunglasses because I would get a headache if I did. He told me that he always asked these questions of green-eyed people and the answer is the same for everyone... great night vision but sensitivity to bright lights. For me, however, there was one more negative that I hadn't really noticed and that was that the sky no longer seemed blue. Instead, over time, the blue sky looked whitish gray to me. I can see most shades of blue, but the sky had lost it's beauty for me.In the past year, I have had some disturbing new symptoms. Before, I could wear any sunglasses outside and be fine, but last year, I noticed that I was getting headaches again. I had to switch to polarized glasses to avoid a headache and that was working great. Then six months ago, right around my 40th birthday, I noticed that my eyesight was becoming blurry when I read, especially when I was tired. I finally got an eye test and ended up with reading glasses that really didn't seem to help... so I don't use them. Instead, I just put up with the slight discomfort I get when I shift my gaze from my phone to somewhere across the room (which is better than doing that with reading glasses...)Now...up to modern day... I found these vitamins a month ago on Amazon and decided to try it because of the reviews. I'm finally on a regular routine with these and have been on them for about two or three weeks now. The past couple days, I've accidentally left the house without my glasses and was surprised to find that not only did I not get a headache from the bright light, but the sky actually looks blue again. I've tried reading at different times of the day or night and haven't really noticed any blurriness, but I have noticed that it's getting easier for me to focus on things both far away and close up without the usual twinge of discomfort. I really thought people were exaggerating here on Amazon, but I'm happy to say they're not. So if you are considering trying these, try them... especially if you have green eyes and have any of the symptoms that I mentioned. Only one pill a day and you can have your young eyes back again in about 3 weeks.

Product quality
It’s difficult to provide opinion on the efficiency of this product because it is not a miracle vitamin supplement that reverses any age related eye condition or improve vision. The good thing that I can say about this product is that it does NOT cause any side effects including gastric issues. Its digestion is pretty good. I guess it does what it is supposed to do in regards to vision health, although, one cannot surely know unless his/her vision gets worst!

Works (Edited 11/26/16)
Edit: 01/12/2017. I am upping the stars to 5 again as I finally found out the reason for the discolouration! Thanks to another customer (Caspurr) who wrote to Jarrow, we found out that Jarrow eliminated the soybean and safflower oil and replaced it with sunflower oil, and also added caramel to the softgel. The current other ingredients are: "sunflower oil, beeswax and natural mixed tocopherols. Softgel consists of gelatin, purified water, glycerin and caramel." I have added a picture of the last bottle I had, and it shows the new ingredients.Edit: 11/26/2016. I have been using these for a few years and they have worked just fine (love Subscribe & Save). However, the last 2 shipments I received had discoloured softgels. I have included a picture below. The softgels on the left are the Jarrow, and the ones on the right are some that I got at the store. Ignore the size difference, the Jarrow formula contains Zeaxanthin and the other does not, but do notice the colour difference. The delivery I received today, and the delivery I received last month were both dark like the gels on the left, while all prior shipments were the same colour as the gels on the right. In addition, the softgels themselves are hard and have very little give. Previous shipments have been soft. Had I not received previous good shipments, I might not have known that these were off. I think they might have been subject to some extreme heat or cold, and I don't know if they are effective. I attempted to exchange them for a different bottle, but Amazon couldn't exchange and just refunded me instead (love Amazon!). Now I have to find a different brand.I have changed my rating from 5 stars to 2 stars. My shipments of 08/30/16 and before have been great, my 10/26/16 and 11/26/16 shipments were the ones that are discoloured and hard. I don't know the lot numbers of my 10/26 shipment as I threw away the bottle, but this bottle is from Lot #56354H16 with an expiration of 08/18.What can I say about a supplement? It works to quiet the flashers in my eyes and the caps are easy to swallow. I have Amazon ship them to me every 2 months so I don't run out.

All soft gels fused into a solid clump. Prying = Breaking other soft gels.
All the pills are stuck together in one massive, solid clump. The only way to release them is to use a chopstick or something pointy to pry one free, which will inevitably damage or break one of the soft gels and make a gooey mess. I imagine these pills are sitting in warehouse that is not being temperature controlled, so they warmed up so much that they fused together, which I find ironic since the bottles for nearly all soft gels specifically say "Store in a COOL, dry place". It wasn't from sitting outside of my door, since I was home and picked them up as soon as I got the notice of their arrival. Some people say "just shake it and it'll come loose". That isn't gonna cut it with this. The clump is tight and formfitting the bottle, so there's no slack for the pills to knock around and loosen up.
