This stuff is the inspiration for the Pink Panther theme: Dead Ant, Dead Ant,Dead Ant
This is the best Fire Ant poison that I have found. It is granular so it doesn't blow away in the wind and doesn't require being watered in. It works fast. This area the Fire Ants are very small, so following one back to a hive is not easy. I make it a lot easier by sprinkling a few grains in the direction that a Fire Ant is heading. The ant will carrying the granule back to the nest making it much easier to track. Then you just sprinkle about a tablespoon full around the outside of the nest and the ants form a conga line to grab a granule and take it back into the nest. Within 48 hours the nest is gone. I'm allergic to Fire Ants, so something this easy to use and effective is a God send.

Works!!!
This actually works. Have used other fire ant treatments and they kill ants but a new mound pops up a couple of feet away from the old one. This actually killed the mound. I found this from other reviews. Very happy with the product.

Best thing for fire ants
Amdro is the best thing for fire ants. Also if you have mealybugs on your outdoor plants the mealybugs may be spread by the ants. Before you buy the extremely expensive mealybug soil drenches,, try treating the ants with Amdro. It worked for my plants.

Amdro works but it's expensive
Once you open the bottle, Amdro starts to go stale. After about a month, it's not as effective if at all. Try to use as much as possible when you first open the bottle because that's when it works best. Amdro should make little packets so we can use a packet today, another next month, another next year, etc. The way it is now, it's expensive because you only need a small amount to kill a couple of ant hills but you have to buy a whole bottle and end up throwing the majority away. Amdro does indeed work when used correctly.

Fire ants DEAD
Fire Ants are a scourge in the south. Some ppl think they are allergic, as the bites raise a pustule, get red, itch, burn and take a real long time to heal...but everyone gets that....as fire ants bit and inject formic acid into the skin, causing a sore and pustule to form. Ive read where huge mound was formed ina FL nursing home, under a patient bed. It killed the lady in the bed! They should be eradicated asap. (Some common ants are native and good guys so be sure you have actual fire ants!). I dont care if ppl say that grits, boiling water etc work killing fire ants...those are old wives tales. Amdro works, and fast. However, use when soil is dry and its sunny for best results. Sprinkle, dont dump. (See directions). The ants start right away taking it to the Queen. Fun to watch. Usually, in an hour its all taken in. Do note that you should keep your dogs away till it is taken in the nest as dogs also like the carrier . Ive used Amdro for years in my FL properties to rid the terrible fire ants!

Works better than those powders
This is my 2nd purchase (proactive for the upcoming season) and works better than those white powders you see all over! You don't have to use as much around a mound, the color blends in and within a few days the colony is done for. My neighbors ask me what I use, since my garden has been clear for almost a year now. Seems to work on other types of ants as well.

Amazing! Worked in My High Rise
Absolutely amazing product, worked perfectly. I live in a high rise and have had a pesky ant problem all summer long. I have sprayed and they just find another way in. Pest control came, no luck. I tried the baking soda/powdered sugar mix, tried the Borax/sugar mix, tried other ant baits from the store. Nothing would work, the ants would eat it then come back the next day. It was so annoying.I saw some YouTuber that showed how he used Amdro in his yard. He said that it worked on all kind of ants he's had, not just fire ants. I decided to give it a try and I'm really glad I did.I ordered on Amazon, got it the next day and sprinkled a few granules that evening near their trail inside my place. I saw them go to it and start carrying the granules away with them.........and that was it. I haven't seen them since. I don't know what kind of ants they were, but they were not fire ants.So grateful for this product!
