Neurology for Kids: A Fun Picture Book About the Nervous System for Children (Gift for Kids, Teachers, and Medical Students) (Medical School for Kids) Paperback – April 12, 2022

Medical School for Kids is the kind of series kids love reading and adults love receiving as a gift for their kids. The illustrations are as vibrant as they appear online which is sure to keep your child engaged while learning.I recently bought Neurology for kids for my coworker who has a 3 month old son and was recently accepted into medical school. I really couldn't think of a more perfect gift. I'm excited to buy more for family and friends.

As a mom, I have gotten many educational books for my two kids, and this is definitely one of the best. The book is very colorful and has wonderful illustrations of neurons and the brain. Most of the book is focused on describing the functions of each part of the brain, but it also teaches kids about common neurological diseases like dementia and epilepsy, which I think are very important for kids to be familiar with. I love how educational this book is and wish it was around when I was growing. Will definitely be getting more from this series!

This is one of the best children’s books about the brain I’ve seen (and one of the few written by actual doctors)! The diagrams of the different parts of the brain are gorgeous and informative. There are fun pictures next to each part of the brain showing their functions. I especially loved the “warning signs of a stroke” page, which I think is very important for kids to know. I will say that some of the words were impossible for me to pronounce (like electroencephalogram), but I appreciated the glossary and pronunciation guide at the end. 100% recommend this book!

My wife and I have gotten tons of science books for our boys, but this book is very unique. Somehow, the authors were able to cover so much real medical information in the format of a picture book that’s both engaging for kids and easy to understand. I’m fairly certain that most (non-medical) parents reading this will learn something new. My sons love the comparison of the different parts of a neuron to the parts of a tree. My oldest even started to point at trees and say “axon” and “dendrites” whenever we go on walks outside!

Right level of information and detail for my 2 and 4 year olds - could probably go from K-3rd grade depending on the kids. Love that it has knowledge checks in the back (i.e., let's see what you remember questions).

As a neurologist, I have to say I am a HUGE fan of this book. The illustrations and explanations are fantastic and it's a good starter about the brain FOR ANY AGE. Appreciate the depth of the book but also how simple it is. Already have my colleagues getting it for their children!

Too simplistic for my needs

We need more books like these! Children are able to handle big vocabulary! Lays great foundation! Wish I had these earlier in my homeschooling years with my children!
