I grew up having a small piano/keyboard but this one is a lot better. There are several sounds, background beats, drum sounds, and even a few animal sounds. My six-year-old "product tester" is having lots of fun with it, and particularly likes the animal sounds. He will hide and make the frog sound and wait for us to come and find "the frog." At night we have to hide the keyboard since he wants to keep playing with it all night. After a week, he hasn't grown tired of it. The different instrument sounds need a little imagination to be realistic, but I have never seen a keyboard under $200 that comes close to realistic.The keyboard can use three AA batteries or a USB cord for power. We have been playing with it every evening for the past week and the batteries are going strong. Not sure about the durability... If it took a hard blow it may break, typical of electronic products of this price range.All in all, it's a nice keyboard for the money for kids in the 3-12 years range I think. If they are going to seriously learn piano, a full size keyboard would be more appropriate, as this is more of a toy to perhaps generate interest in playing music. And for those advanced piano players, this is only 3 note polyphonic. The forth note gives unpredictable results. However, this is a toy and you shouldn't be playing advanced chords on it anyway!Disclosure: I have purchased other products from this company and have been very happy with them. I purchased 2 of these as gifts for a 2 and a 3 year old. They absolutely love them! Like to carry them everywhere they go and they are the perfect size. The volume is pretty loud. But they won’t turn it lower. Well worth the cost.

With this keyboard you get what you pay for. I purchased this keyboard to just stay in touch with my piano ways. While it is for kids, adults can use it too, more specifically while traveling because it's so light weight. It weighs next to nothing and is easy to mobile.For home use, it produces decent sound and has a few effects you can use as background noise. There are definitely kid related options to this keyboard, but if you don't want to use them, don't. You're not paying so much for this just because it's kid friendly. For the price, you still have access to a keyboard wherever you are which is neat IMO.The button layout is good enough and controls are easy to use. A couple of issues I came across with this keyboard, however, are cosmetic markings all over it almost as if it was used, returned, and then shipped back out as new. The power button doesn't provide a light letting you know if the keyboard is on or not. There is a graphic that shows you when the button is in the ON position and OFF position, but when on, it would be nice to know if power is being received because as of now, you have to press a key to determine that. While the keyboard is light, it's also not rugged so it's not built to handle much abuse meaning treat it carefully wherever you take it. The colors are OK and don't mess with your eyes any or provide stark contrast that makes it's hard to focus on the keys. The power is provided via mini USB and/or . The keyboard is made in CHINA.Overall, decent purchase for a decent keyboard. it won't win any awards, but it will distract a child long enough or keep an adult in practice mode if they are away from their primary piano for any particular reason.

Great kid friendly piano! Small sized and extremely light weight to carry around in different rooms and has 37 keys. There are 8 different musical tones for 8 instruments to choose from along with 8 rhythms for a backdrop. You can use it to play sheet music or create your own with the wide variety of settings provided. The sound quality is excellent and has adequate and powerful volume control! My kids enjoying exploring this...Definitely is a fun musical instrument, worth the price!
